Girls With Swords: A Sword Reforged (pgs 24-29)

The sword was renewed… There have been times in my life where I have felt beaten down, like I was unable to pick anything up— least a sword and carry it anywhere; times where I have felt I couldn’t read the word of God; times where I felt I couldn’t even pray.

I know what it feels like to have the sword renewed in my life. To pick up the Bible and have God lead me to the scripture I needed to read that day, to say a prayer and to feel His presence, I know what it feels like to have my sword renewed. I think we can all relate to this.

When I pick up the sword of the Word of God, a lot of times I don’t know what I’m going to read.  I don’t know how it is going to impact my day, my week or how it is going to impact that moment in time.  I do know, and I have faith in the fact, that the Word I hold in my hand and in my heart will make a difference, that the words He has written will make a difference not only in my life, but in the lives of others.

Our futures are beautiful and powerful, because we have God on our side and in our hearts.  As Lisa said, it is time for the church to know what a girl with a sword can do, it’s time for Satan to know what a girl with a sword can do, and it’s time that we believe this ourselves—that we take up our swords and declare what God has said in His Scriptures.

Girls with swords may be only three letters, but ladies, it means so much

Lets Pray:

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the sword You have placed in our lives. Thank You for allowing us to see the power of this sword in our own lives so that we can wield our swords with confidence and faith. Please allow our words and actions to heal and not hurt.  Please give us the holy boldness to step out, sword in hand, and show the world, Satan, and ourselves, that Your word—our swords—hold more power than we could ever imagine.  In Jesus’ name, we pray,  Amen.

  1. Amen Tonya! Well written, Thank you! We all need to be renewed. God tells us this in Romans 12:2 – “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the RENEWING of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approved what God’s will is- His good, pleasing and perfect will.” Sometimes we become so weary and beaten down by the battles we face, but we are “more than conquerors.” When we have the sword (word of God) in our Hearts and Minds, satan cannot beat us down, He cannot win. Romans 16:20 tells us ” The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.” In return, this verse tells me that God has, and will continue to defeat Satan. When we pick up our swords against satan, We also will have the victory! John 16:33 says “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.

Romans 12:2 is one of my verses for 2013! We have to pick up our swords daily (read the Word daily) so we can experience continued renewal. ♥

  2. Renewal! Revival! Such beautiful words. Changing words. I love the phrase in the book ” renewal shall be the blade that was broken”. Renewed broken people are powerful tools for the kingdom. Hope for the future. A shimmering symbol if all that could be. This section is filled with hope and it’s beautiful and we can be renewed reforged.

I love those words. “The blade that was broken”. I agree with you 100% , broken people are powerful tools. God will use our brokenness to touch others. ♥

  3. A renewed sword is a STRONG sword. A heart that has been forgiven and restored has much to be grateful and thankful for. Thank you for the reminder of our usefulness to the Father. No wound is wasted if we let Him use it for His purposes. Love you girl!

  4. Great blog and great responses. “It is our time to wield the sword of God’s Word to make history rather than to simply mark it!” Yes, Lord!

Where you are matters-Strategically placed-when swords appear motives are revealed. You become thoroughly acquainted with God’s weapon of choice. which is The Word Of God,in your heart! Amen.
It’s time that we take up our swords and declare what God has said in His Scriptures.t.
A sword reforged is A Renewed, Refreshed, and Anointed sword, ready for action. She is making her image.

  6. I love it when I am struggling the Holy Spirit directs me to that verse, I read something that helps, I hear a message in church. That really happens and boy it is so awesome. God is constantley speaking to us we just have to listen. 🙂

At my weakest I am often my strongest in my faith. I must trust in the Lord and I pray not my will but yours. Yesterday, I listened to a teacher that hid her children in a room during the Sandy Hook incident. This teacher though very young looked into each of her children’s faces and told them she loved them. She wanted each child to feel loved because she truly thought they were going to die. Since then she has encouraged them to give love and concern back to the community. This teacher and the children are moving forward combating hatred with Love and their broken hearts are being healed by focusing on “Love”. God’s Love!!

Leslie I am with you also because when I am struggling God speaks to me either in a verse or a the message the pastor is going to give.

    Tonya great blog!

  9. This helped my heart so much today! I too know how it feels to have the sword renewed in our lives. Thanking God for renewing us through HIS word sometimes on a daily basis:)

  10. Amen Tonya, thank you for these wonderful words of encouragement. Lifting the sword High!
