Crazy Love – Week 2 / Chapter 2 “You Might Not Finish This Chapter” Weekly Review

Weekly Review

This week has been all about living in the present and living each day as if it were our last. Here’s a re-cap…

Monday, I shared with you about living each day as if you don’t have another…not putting things off and certainly not wasting time we have on this earth.

Martha had some pretty bold words for us on Tuesday about it being not about YOU. She warned us that we all really need to get over ourselves. Ouch…. But so very true.

On Wednesday, Donna shared with us about legacy and had us ask ourselves a very important question…. “What will you leave behind?”

Jennifer shared Brooke’s story with us on Thursday and we were all totally inspired to action about how fully we are living our lives to point people to God!

Yes… this has certainly been a powerful week and I pray each lesson has been a blessing to you <3

Francis Chan has THIS video for us about Chapter 2. Please watch it now…..

 Your Assignment:

What is your one BIG TAKEAWAY from this chapter and Francis Chan’s video for us for this week? How has this kicked you into action for change? Please share with us below 🙂

Let’s Pray:

Dear Lord, thank You for another week and for the blessing of this study. I pray that as we go into our weekend, that You continue to mold our hearts and help us to begin today to live like we have no tomorrow. Help us turn hearts to You, Father, and live OUT LOUD for Your glory! In Jesus’ name we pray, amen!

Blessings,

Megan

  1. oh.my. just one, megan? ok, my BIG takeaway is choosing to live in the moment—living each moment as if it were my last—not getting caught up in the past OR the future. hear me now, i am not saying i have totally changed my mindset and have arrived at the point where THIS is where i stay! but, i am moving along there…and am ENDEAVORING to keep this desire to be in His Presence as the defining thought of my day. so, by God's grace and His help through the holy spirit and my efforts fueled by my love for Him, today i will stay there a little longer! <3

that is one BIG take away, isn;t it???? SO BIG and it will help in every single facet of your life! I love this study!!!! 🙂

  2. Two things for me, or maybe more, but to the point: as Coleen said, living each moment as if it were my last. And justified stress – -thinking that even doing the Lord's work could be viewed as stressful and getting caught up in Me, and not HIM.

    • Megan Smidt says

Yes, Martha… thats a big one, too….. and easy to get caught up in <3 God calls us to balance in order to be able to live fully to glorify His kingdom on earth! <3

  3. Take Away?– Buechner's quote, …Intellectually we all know that we will die…We do not really know it in the sense of living as though it were true…." I will not live forever so I must live my life before my family, my grandkids, friends, neighbors, and strangers as if this is my last chance to show them and tell them about God's crazy love for each of us. My motto should be, "Live Out Loud for God!"

  4. I loved what he said that "today might be the day that I will see God and stand before His throne." We don't really think so much about dying for sure, and then…we might say something like "going to heaven". And while that's true, it hit me today for some reason, that it's so much more than that – I might SEE God today! That statement is so personal, and I hope stays in the forefront of my mind so that I I live each moment to the fullest and not be caught up in anything that I would be ashamed of, for today might be the day that I see God. Might be elementary to some, but it hit me hard today for some reason! Loving the study!!!

Kathy I love it!!! It is super personal and that's how we MUST see it! Each day is a gift and God needs us to be our best for His glory!!! <3 so happy you're here 🙂

  5. there is no sound on this video for me 🙁 I even tried opening it in youtube but nothing happened 🙁 anyone else have this problem? My big take away is that I have wasted opportunities and I pray that God will make me bold to seize the day so that I can recognize divine meetings and treat them as such!

    • Megan Smidt says

Janet…. I can hear it just fine, I'm so sorry you can't 🙁 know I'm praying right along side you <3

  6. Wonderful chapter this past week, and great video, as well. Living with a terminally ill husband, knowing that he could "go" at anytime, has been a real eye-opener for me this last year. Every day is precious! Live every day to the fullest! Carpe Diem!

  7. Wow!! My biggest take away this week is how little we are asked to do for the huge reward we gain. Remembering to take the I out of my witness and to put Jesus back in. What kind of legacy do I want to leave? There is only one that others may remember she loved Jesus with all her heart, spirit & mind.
