Let’s Pray

Father, as we begin this new lesson this week, let us prepare our days so we are able to clear our schedules, and our minds, Lord, to better hear Your voice.  Let us lay aside all things that concern us this day, so we are able to sit at Your feet and learn from You, so we can become even more Faithfully Yours, Lord!  In Jesus’ Name, AMEN!!

  1. thanks, christi, for directing us to this video clip with priscilla! i listened to her speak this desire over and over and over again: "help me to recognize the holy nudges that point me in the direction of what You would have me to do and then be faithful to DO it…." oh, yes, Lord…me, too, please!!!
and, so that it is NOT just my desire but my intentional action, i am getting up an hour earlier to insure that circumstances do not steal away my set-aside time devoted to the Lord. with God's help, grace, and mercy…this will happen. <3

  2. I love how she states, with breathing in her ear from her little ones, she still asks God to direct her days and to recognize what He has in store for her today. I too want to hear that from our Lord, to be open to hear what He has in store for me today. What a beautiful lady with a beautiful message.

  3. What better way to start this week's study! Setting aside time over the next couple of weeks is going to take serious resolve for me since hubby's home and we have MAJOR projects going on plus normal life with 3 kids. Lord, help me to meet You daily to hear what You would have me do.

  4. When I first read this chapter and the blog for today, my first thought was "How am I going to find that kind of time?" I already get up at 5am and run like mad until 9-10 at night. Then it occurred to me that i saw it as more of a chore than a privilege to spend time with the Lord. I saw it as something I HAD to do instead of wanting and desiring that time with the Lord. So I took a look at my schedule and where my priorities lie and I can now say that I have found a good chunk of time first thing in the morning to devote to Him. So for me, it is rearranging my life and schedule with the proper priorities. The first of which is the relationship that is most important. That is what I plan to do this week

  5. Beverly McCormick says

make sure that ME is not in the way….He desires my time and I WILL make sure I spend it with Him…how can I learn what He needs to teach me if I don't plan time in my day for Him first?

  6. Patricia Wood says

I need to get my priorities right, I want to spend time with God, in His word and prayer but what keeps getting in the way is housework and computer. Still!!!!!!! This morning I was just going to get on just for the bible study here and well guess what? yep there went my time. I finally read today's chapter! I need that quiet time my own devotional time with the Lord

    • Set up a schedule Patricia to where you will NOT allow yourself to get on the computer, until AFTER your quiet time. Get your schedule written down the night before, so you know what your assignment is, and you won't be tempted to turn on the computer. Give your FIRST to God, not your leftovers.

  7. I need to get up earlier to spend time with the Lord so that I can hear what the Lord is saying to me whie my house is quiet. Lately since our diet has changed I'm finding the time I had to spend with the Lord is being eaten up by making breakfast and lunch for my husband. Once finished kids get up and dogs are barking. I'm intentionally getting up and giving the Lord my firstfruit of the day.

  8. Donna Slaten says

I have lived this past year without any type of a routine. By experience I know that early morning is the best time of day for me to spend with the Lord. I have sleep problems that really interfere with my early mornings, and adult son who now lives with us. I need to find that time in a 24 hour day that can be a routine, uninterrupted time with the Lord. I am beginning think the best time will be at night. In any case, I am going to ask the Lord to show me that time so it can be my routine time, my "Habit " time, so that I am not always trying to "get to it". 🙂 Thanks for the accountability <3

    • I never used to be an early morning person, until about 4 weeks ago. I started setting my alarm for 6am, and getting up. I have breakfast first, so I can concentrate better. Pour myself a glass of ice water, and grab any and all books that I am going to need. It's amazing how much of a morning person I've become now!!! 🙂

  9. Kim spring says

I'm taking the first hour of my day and dedicating it to Him. And my last before bed. I really need Him now.

  10. I want to be an example of FAITHFULNESS. This is my desire.

  11. janet jackson says

God is sending heavenly whispers to me (mostly the same one over and over) ok got it now Lord! You are enough and you are ALL I need! I am setting aside the first part of my day devoted to God, this study and the anticipation of being still and seeing/hearing God speak about what He desires of me and how i can be used in ministry at our church.
