You Reign

psalmshymnsspiritualsongskjv

Even before there was a drop in the ocean
Even before there was a star in the sky
Even before the world was put in motion
You were on Your throne, You were on Your throne

You reign, glory in the highest, You reign
Let creation testify by Your name
Every knee will bow and every tongue proclaim
That Jesus reigns

Even before Your hand made the heavens
Even before the breath of all mankind
Even before we had to be forgiven
You were on Your throne, You were on Your throne

Yesterday, today and forever
You are God who was and is and is to come
You reign, glory in the highest, You reign

You reign, glory in the highest, You reign
Let creation testify by Your name
Every knee will bow and every tongue proclaim
Let every tongue proclaim, let every tongue proclaim
That Jesus reigns

But You, O Lordreign for ever; Your throne endures to all generations…
Lamentations 5:19
Our God reigns yesterday…today…and tomorrow.  He was there from the beginning of time and He will be there until the last. Every moment, every breath we take, is a gift from our God.
For it is written, As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.
Romans 14:11
While we are His children when we pronounce Him as our Lord and King, we are to bow and confess that He is the one true God.  We are to honor and love Him as the Number One in our life. We are to put Him first over our husband, boyfriend, even our children.  When these things are in the correct order, our lives will line up. Now, this does not mean that trouble will not come to us, but we will surely overcome!

Father, thank You for reigning in our lives. Thank You for loving us enough to pursue us. Thank You for being patient and forgiving us when we try to rule our own lives. Help us to give every detail over to You each day. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)

psalmshymnsspiritualsongskjv

~  Listen while you read, please!  ~

You call me out upon the waters, the great unknown where feet may fail
And there I find You in the mystery, In oceans deep my faith will stand

And I will call upon Your name, and keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise my soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine

Your grace abounds in deepest waters, Your sovereign hand will be my guide
Where feet may fail and fear surrounds me You’ve never failed and You won’t start now

Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders
Let me walk upon the waters wherever You would call me
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And my faith will be made stronger in the presence of my Savior

I will call upon Your Name
Keep my eyes above the waves
My soul will rest in Your embrace
I am Yours and You are Mine

This song speaks to my heart so much!  “You call me out upon the waters, the great unknown where my feet may fail and there I find you…in oceans deep my faith will stand….”

“Will your faith stand in the oceans deep?” This is the question I ask myself….  Just like when Jesus called Peter out of the boat.  As long as Peter kept his eyes on Jesus, he was able to walk on water.  But the minute he took his eyes off of Jesus, He began to sink.

Let’s go to Mathew 14: 28-33 NLT

Then Peter called to him, “Lord, if it’s really you, tell me to come to you, walking on the water.”  “Yes, come,” Jesus said. So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus. But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. “Save me, Lord!” he shouted. Jesus immediately reached out and grabbed him. “You have so little faith,” Jesus said.“Why did you doubt me?” When they climbed back into the boat, the wind stopped. Then the disciples worshiped him. “You really are the Son of God!” they exclaimed.

It is when we take our eyes off Jesus that we begin to sink into our circumstances and lose our peace.  But when we keep our eyes focused on Jesus the peace that surpasses all understanding in the midst of the hardest places is evident.

And I will call upon Your name and keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise my soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine
Where feet may fail and fear surrounds me,
You’ve never failed and You won’t start now..
My soul will rest in your embrace….

What a beautiful picture!

Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens,
and I will give you rest.

Mathew 11:28 NLT

Will you go to Him?  Will you trust Him even in the midst of the toughest places?  We know His plans for us are for good and to give us a hope and a future. We find this Truth in one of my favorite verses:

For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD.
They are plans for good and not for disaster,
to give you a future and a hope.
Jeremiah 29:11

My prayer this day for me and for you is this…

Spirit, lead me where my trust is without borders
Let me walk upon the waters wherever You would call me
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander and my faith will be made stronger
In the presence of my Savior… In Jesus’ name AMEN!!!
