{"id":5767,"date":"2012-12-10T00:01:39","date_gmt":"2012-12-10T06:01:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/?p=5767"},"modified":"2013-01-25T00:54:22","modified_gmt":"2013-01-25T05:54:22","slug":"a-daughters-worth-week-11-day-1-be-ready-to-hear-gods-voice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/2012\/12\/10\/a-daughters-worth-week-11-day-1-be-ready-to-hear-gods-voice\/","title":{"rendered":"A Daughter&#8217;s Worth: Week 11\/ Day 1 &#8211; Be Ready to Hear God&#8217;s Voice"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/2012\/12\/10\/a-daughters-worth-week-11-day-1-be-ready-to-hear-gods-voice\/phil-1_9_10\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-5786\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5786\" alt=\"Phil 1_9_10\" src=\"http:\/\/69.89.31.171\/~girlfrk8\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/phil-1_9_10.jpg\" width=\"364\" height=\"468\" srcset=\"https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/phil-1_9_10.jpg 364w, https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/phil-1_9_10-233x300.jpg 233w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 364px) 100vw, 364px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The first question Ava asks us this week is have you ever heard the voice of God.\u00a0 When I was your age I don\u2019t think I ever thought God had a voice.\u00a0 I surely never heard Him talk to me.\u00a0 For as much as I prayed to God I never thought of it as a communication; one in which God would actually talk back to me!\u00a0 As I grow in my relationship with God my favorite moments with Him are when He is talking to me.\u00a0 Do you believe God talks to us?\u00a0 Have you ever thought what His voice sounds like?<\/p>\n<p>I have come to find out that His voice sounds like a powerful song full of God\u2019s truths.\u00a0 His voice sounds like scripture found in God\u2019s living Word.\u00a0 His voice sounds like my mother, sister, or godly friend who speaks God\u2019s truth and encouragement to me from time to time.\u00a0 His voice sounds like my grandmother&#8217;s letters to me.\u00a0 All of the ways he talks to me have one thing in common.\u00a0 God\u2019s voice is found in His truth.\u00a0 There are lots of things in this world that are filled with God\u2019s truth we just have to open our eyes, ears, and hearts to them.\u00a0 God\u2019s voice is found differently to everyone, but when you find it you will hear the same thing, His truth!<\/p>\n<p>How do we go about opening up to hear from God?\u00a0 I just recently have figured this one out, and I continue to learn as I spend time with God.\u00a0 It is all about the relationship that we have with God.\u00a0 When I was your age I did not understand what having a relationship with God was.\u00a0 When I found out that God desired to have a relationship with me, it changed my life!\u00a0 When I started embracing the relationship I could have with God, I started to open my heart, eyes, and ears to what the Bible had to say about this relationship.\u00a0 I started knowing God as my God and not just as a God.\u00a0 I also found the truth of what this relationship is like through lyrics in a Christmas song by Amy Grant.<\/p>\n<p><i>Fragile finger<\/i><br \/>\n<i>Sent to heal us<\/i><br \/>\n<i>Tender brow prepared for thorn<\/i><br \/>\n<i>Tiny heart<\/i><br \/>\n<i>Whose blood will save us<\/i><br \/>\n<i>Unto us is born<\/i><br \/>\n<i>Unto us is born<\/i><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/xQkqdDpxz9Y?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>I have heard this song over and over again for the last 10+ years, never feeling my heart ever so gently touched by the sound of these words. Last year when I heard these lyrics for the first time in the Christmas season I actually shed a tear knowing the Lord was speaking to me through these words. How beautiful, how precious is our Savior. Tiny heart whose blood will save us and it has, and it will forevermore. How blessed I am to have accepted such a sacrifice. I thank the Lord for bringing me to the point where I am today; as hard as it was. I am to the point where I understand that I will never fully understand the depth of those words, the pain and love behind every one of them. \u00a0Have you accepted the beautiful sacrifice of Jesus\u2019 blood?\u00a0 Are you living in a personal relationship with God?<\/p>\n<p>Are you wondering what a relationship with God looks like?\u00a0 The relationship itself is different for everyone but there is one factor that is the same with everyone-God.\u00a0 The only places we can go to find out who He is and what He is like is in the Bible or in praying to Him.\u00a0 The more time we spend with Him the more we are ready to hear from Him.\u00a0 When we believe who God is, when we are confident in His truths that is when we are ready to hear from Him!<\/p>\n<p>Really think about how amazing it would be if you could hear from God all of the time.\u00a0 Wondering what you should do about a situation in your life?\u00a0 Wondering what is right and what is wrong?\u00a0 Wondering who you should talk to about this or that?\u00a0 God has all of the answers for you.\u00a0 He is willing to tell you what to do, what is right, and is the one we should be talking to about everything in our lives.\u00a0 It may seem too good to be true.\u00a0 Do we really have access to a perfect best friend?\u00a0 One who will always be there for us, and always lead us towards Heaven.\u00a0 It is true, we do have access daily to our perfect best friend, Jesus.<\/p>\n<p>It is my prayer that you find your relationship with God.\u00a0 It is my prayer that you desire to hear God\u2019s voice in your life, daily.<\/p>\n<p><b><i>Philippians 1:9-10 <\/i><\/b><b><i>And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight,<\/i><\/b><b><i> <sup>\u00a0<\/sup>so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ.<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Think about where you need to hear God\u2019s voice in your life.\u00a0 What are you unsure of or needing answers for?\u00a0 Do what the Bible tells us to do, grow in Christ\u2019s love gaining HIS knowledge and HIS depth of insight so that you may be able to hear HIS voice in your life!<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s Pray:\u00a0 Lord, I thank you for the privilege we have in prayer.\u00a0 We get to communicate with the creator of the Heavens and the Earth.\u00a0 Even better, we get to hear back from you!\u00a0 Thank you for guiding us and speaking to us exactly what we need to hear.\u00a0 I ask that the hearts of these girls are open to accepting your love and voice in their life.\u00a0 We thank you for the relationship we have with you!\u00a0 We love you so much, Amen!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">**********<\/p>\n<p>If you are interested in joining us in our GCH:decaf Teen Girls Ministry, please click the sign-up form button at the top of our webpage.
