{"id":5669,"date":"2012-12-07T00:30:18","date_gmt":"2012-12-07T06:30:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/?p=5669"},"modified":"2013-01-25T00:47:41","modified_gmt":"2013-01-25T05:47:41","slug":"winning-him-without-words-weekly-reviewdiscoveryprayer-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/2012\/12\/07\/winning-him-without-words-weekly-reviewdiscoveryprayer-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Winning Him Without Words: Weekly Review"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/2012\/12\/07\/winning-him-without-words-weekly-reviewdiscoveryprayer-2\/gch_esther14_4\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-5670\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5670\" alt=\"GCH_Esther14_4\" src=\"http:\/\/69.89.31.171\/~girlfrk8\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/gch_esther14_4.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"479\" srcset=\"https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/gch_esther14_4.jpg 603w, https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/gch_esther14_4-300x239.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><b><br \/>\n\u201cWho is to say you have not been brought into the kingdom for such a time as this.\u201d<br \/>\n(Esther 4:14)<\/b><\/p>\n<p>This week, we are brought to some soul searching questions we must answer if we choose to be a part of God\u2019s plan in helping our husband find his way to Christ.<\/p>\n<p>The chapter begins with the role John the Baptist played in the life of Christ. \u00a0John was chosen to prepare the way of Christ, and not be one of the elite group of Twelve Disciples who would walk side by side Him during his ministry on earth.<\/p>\n<p>As I read the role John the Baptist played, my mind raced back to a time when I felt I was being placed in a role for a bigger picture to unfold in my marriage. \u00a0Quite honestly, I didn\u2019t want to assume that role. \u00a0But, one day Esther 4:14 caught my attention: \u201cWho is to say you have not been brought into the kingdom for such a time as this.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I raced to my computer and composed a poem, recalling people and, yes, even animals, in the Bible who were pre-positioned for an important role in the history of all mankind.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Who is to Say?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>(Martha Bush &#8211; -November 10, 2005)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><b><br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Esther, a Jewish slave, became the wife of a pagan King in the land,<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> Discovered that Haman wanted all the Jews destroyed by the King\u2019s command.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> But, Esther had favor with The King and Haman\u2019s plot went amiss,<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> Who is to say that a <strong>slave girl<\/strong> wasn\u2019t brought into the Kingdom for such a time as this?<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Think of Rahab, who was called a harlot by name,<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> Heard about God drying up the Red Sea and bringing the Egyptians to shame.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> So, she hid the Israelite spies and every wall of Jericho fell without a miss,<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> Who is to say that a <strong>harlot<\/strong> wasn\u2019t brought into the Kingdom for such a time as this?<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">And then there is the donkey that stopped Balaam in his tracks,<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> From going the wrong way less the Israelites be cursed and attacked.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> Now we might scoff at the idea of God using a donkey &amp; say: \u201cthat idea I will dismiss,\u201d<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> Who is to say that the <strong>donkey<\/strong> wasn\u2019t brought into the Kingdom for such a time as this?<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Let\u2019s never forget Mary, a young virgin in her day,<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> Received a visit from an angel who had powerful words to say.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> \u201cYou shall bring forth a son to save the world by shedding blood of His.\u201d<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> Indeed, a <strong>virgin<\/strong> was brought into the Kingdom for such a time as this!<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">But wait, there were others involved in the nativity scene,<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> Shepherds, wise men, angels, all around the stable they leaned.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> Quite unnoticed was Anna who proclaimed the redemption message in their midst,<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> Who is to say that an <strong>unknown woman<\/strong> wasn\u2019t brought into the kingdom for such a time as this?<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Now each of these people probably questioned their position from the start,<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> Why, even Mary pondered these things in her heart.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> No doubt they even found discomfort in doing what they had been asked to do,<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> For example the donkey, \u201cI\u2019m sure he didn\u2019t like being kicked by Balaam, would you?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">But, the Bible shows how God uses slaves, harlots, virgins, and even donkeys too,<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> To fulfill the plan and purpose they were created to do.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> And so if I should be pre-positioned by God in a position that I would rather dismiss,<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> Who is to say that I, <strong>an ordinary housewife<\/strong>, wasn\u2019t brought into the Kingdom for such a time as this?<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: center;\">************<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s review Sarah, Jennifer, and Donna\u2019s points on how God prepares us, an ordinary housewife, in helping our husband find his way to Christ.<b> \u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\">Weekly Review<\/h1>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Monday: \u00a0Sarah \u2013 John the Baptist<\/strong> &#8211; -Sarah reviews Dineen thoughts on John The Baptist\u2019s role and wonders if he ever felt short changed because he wasn\u2019t chosen to be part of the Twelve men who walked with Jesus daily? \u00a0If John <strong>compared<\/strong> himself with the other twelve, certainly he knew he was just as capable to spread Christ\u2019s word as they were.<\/p>\n<p>Sarah confessed to comparing herself to others from junior high into her adult life. But, Sarah has discovered that: \u201cI can be <strong>ME, Sarah Jane Boyer<\/strong>. And that is a great thing to be because He created <strong>ME<\/strong> and He has me on the path He predestined for me.<\/p>\n<p>Sarah has moved herself from 2nd best into the #1 spot: \u00a0\u201cI don\u2019t need to compare myself to others because there is no comparison. \u00a0We are all #1 to God and all for different reasons.\u201d \u00a0Like John The Baptist, I am content to fulfill the role God has chosen for me and I will do it with grace and honor to Him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em> May we do likewise.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Tuesday: Jennifer-Motivated By Agape Love \/ Crossing a Threshold<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Jennifer points to a place of preparation for our role in helping our husband find his way to Christ &#8211; &#8211;<strong>Agape Love<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Agape Love is:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a selfless, sacrificial, unconditional form of love.<\/li>\n<li>the love that Christ has for each one of us.<\/li>\n<li>is based upon a decision, not a feeling<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When you live out agape love, you choose to love, despite the fact you have been hurt; overlook the ways your spouse has slighted you; forgive your spouse for the way he has hurt you.<\/p>\n<p>Pointed questions Jennifer ask us:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Can you sacrifice your own needs, wants, and desires and truly love your husband with an agape form of love that is not based on anything other than choosing to love him like Christ loves you?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li>Are you ready to cross the threshold and say: \u00a0\u201cLord, do whatever it takes to bring my husband to Christ?\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li>What are you willing to risk for your unbelieving husband to know Jesus?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><em> May we prayerfully consider these questions.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Wednesday: Donna &#8211; Prepared by God \/ Unanswered Prayers<\/strong> &#8211; -Donna brings out another way God prepares us for our role in bringing our husband to Christ: \u00a0<strong>TRIALS<\/strong>. \u00a0She points to the fact that Jesus learned obedience and submission from His sufferings.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the trials we might face:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Perhaps God has asked you to stay the course in your marriage through very tough circumstances.<\/li>\n<li>Maybe He\u2019s asked you to show love to a man who acts unlovable<\/li>\n<li>Maybe you don\u2019t feel loved by him<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Donna agrees with Dineen who wrote: \u00a0\u201cIn our trials, we can look to Jesus and see the pattern of preparation, and perhaps therein lies our joy-in knowing that the Father loves us as much as He loves His Son and is preparing us for the destiny He has planned for each of us, and for our husbands.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Thursday: \u00a0Sarah &#8211; -The Perpetual State of Waiting<\/strong> &#8211; -Sarah brings us to another way God prepares us for helping bring our husband to Christ: <strong>Waiting<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Why Does God Make Us Wait?<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>The Testing Time &#8211; &#8211; Involves a good attitude<\/li>\n<li>The Right time &#8211; &#8211; Doing things on our own time, causes setbacks and frustration. Waiting patiently for God; all things will fall into place and run smoothly.<\/li>\n<li>Motivation &#8211; &#8211; God also wants to make sure our heart is right. He wants to be certain that you don\u2019t misuse your blessings.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Sarah concludes with:<b><br \/>\n<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>He is waiting on you. YES! God waits for you too!<\/li>\n<li>He waits for you to show Him you can be patient.<\/li>\n<li>He waits for you to show Him you will rely on Him for help when there are obstacles in your path.<\/li>\n<li>He waits for your heart to be right.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b id=\"internal-source-marker_0.791392530547455\">So you see, it\u2019s not just us that are doing all the waiting. He waits too.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b id=\"internal-source-marker_0.791392530547455\"> Friday: Discovery\/Prayer \u2013 <\/b>Father, God, I thank you for what you have taught about the role we play in helping our husband find his way to Christ. \u00a0May we not compare ourselves with others, live in agape love, and be willing to wait for your perfect timing. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0In Jesus name, I pray.
