{"id":522,"date":"2012-07-02T06:00:40","date_gmt":"2012-07-02T11:00:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/?p=522"},"modified":"2013-01-24T17:14:19","modified_gmt":"2013-01-24T22:14:19","slug":"the-resolution-for-women-every-bite-counts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/2012\/07\/02\/the-resolution-for-women-every-bite-counts\/","title":{"rendered":"The Resolution for Women:  Every Bite Counts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/69.89.31.171\/~girlfrk8\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/1tim6_6.jpg\"><br \/>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<h2 align=\"center\"><strong>Memory Verse for this week:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">\u201cNow godliness with contentment is great gain\u201d<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong>1 Timothy 6:6 (NIV)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Welcome to our first week of The Resolution for Women!\u00a0 I\u2019m very excited to begin this new journey with you, as we resolve to become the very best that we can be!<\/p>\n<p>This chapter \u201cEvery Bite Counts\u201d really hit home for me!\u00a0 I will be celebrating my 54<sup>th<\/sup> birthday in December of this year.\u00a0 I\u2019ve seen a lot of things happen in my lifetime:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I\u2019ve experienced the joy of being pregnant three times.<\/li>\n<li>I\u2019ve experienced the immense joy that came when I saw the birth of my two daughters.<\/li>\n<li>I\u2019ve watched ten amazing grandchildren come into this world!<\/li>\n<li>I\u2019ve learned what being a stepmom means, and what it can bring into your life.<\/li>\n<li>I\u2019ve seen gasoline go from 75-cents a gallon to over $4.00!<\/li>\n<li>I\u2019ve seen bread go from 3 for $1.00 to over $2.00 \/ loaf!<\/li>\n<li>I\u2019ve seen milk go from $.99 a gallon to over $4.00 \/ gallon!<\/li>\n<li>I saw the Space Shuttle Program begin in 1972.<\/li>\n<li>I\u2019ve seen 10 President\u2019s serve theUnited States.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I\u2019ve seen a lot in my 53 years.\u00a0 But, what stood out to me in this chapter was Priscilla\u2019s comment \u201cInstead of relishing each moment, each year, each opportunity, each step on the journey, I\u2019m constantly overeager to get to the next thing, which always looks more enticing than what is currently before me.\u00a0 I\u2019m rarely satisfied in full with my current situation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Can you relate to that statement?<\/p>\n<p>Have you found yourself not being in full attendance for large portions of your life?<\/p>\n<p>Are you taking the time today to enjoy your life to its fullest?<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>If not, what is stopping you?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Priscilla discusses the word \u201cdiscontentment\u201d in this chapter.\u00a0 It\u2019s like an intruder that shows up at your front door step, eager to step inside and make himself at home.\u00a0 A visitor that sometimes refuses to leave!\u00a0 A visitor that robs you of your years!\u00a0 Before you know it, you\u2019ve missed the joy of the journey!<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s take a bit of time today to really think about the things in our lives that we have missed out on, and what we can do to change that for the future.<\/p>\n<p>How can we slow down our life just a bit to be able to really enjoy the journey?\u00a0 There is really nothing you can do to go backwards and change what has been done already.\u00a0 But, there is a lot you can do to change while moving forward.\u00a0 Pick yourself up.\u00a0 Brush yourself off.\u00a0 And move forward!\u00a0 No looking back\u2026and no going back!!\u00a0 Just focus on being content and enjoying <strong><em>today<\/em><\/strong>!<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>Let\u2019s pray:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Father, we are so very thankful for bible studies like this one that makes Your word so clear to us.\u00a0 Lord, I ask that You teach us how to slow down, and really enjoy and appreciate the life that You have given us!\u00a0 Teach us to make better use of our time, to allow more opportunity to enjoy life and all it holds in store for us.\u00a0 In Your Son\u2019s Precious Name, Amen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Question of the day:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">\u201cWhat can you do differently today to \u201cscrape the plate\u201d \u2013 to gather up all the good things around you and begin enjoying the journey of your life?\u201d\u00a0 Please share your comments below.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>After reading today\u2019s blog, please return to our Online Bible Study Group for your daily activity!
