My peace I now give and bequeath to you.\u00a0 Not as the world gives do I give to you.\u00a0 Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.\u00a0 [Stop allowing yourself to be agitated and disturbed; and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled.]\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><i>*=*=*=*=*=*<\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><strong><i>Proverbs 16:7<\/i><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><i>\u201cWhen a man\u2019s ways are pleasing to the Lord, He makes even his enemies live at peace with him.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><i>*=*=*=*=*=*<\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><strong><i>2 Thessalonians 3:16<\/i><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><i>\u201cNow may the Lord of peace Himself grant you His peace (the peace of His kingdom) at all times and in all ways [under all circumstances and conditions, whatever comes.]\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:left;\">We can clearly see here that the Lord instructs us to live in peace, in all circumstances and conditions.\u00a0\u00a0But what about times when \u201clife\u201d happens, and you just don\u2019t feel like living in peace?\u00a0\u00a0Or it\u2019s hard to walk in peace because of the circumstances?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:left;\">Sometimes we have things happen in our lives that are devastating.\u00a0\u00a0They rip the rug right out from under us.\u00a0\u00a0They cause much stress, anger, bitterness, and more.\u00a0\u00a0How in the world are we to walk in peace during those times?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:left;\">First, we have to recognize who or what is causing the stress, anger, bitterness, and lack of peace in our life.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><strong><i>John 10:10<\/i><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><strong><i>The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. <\/i><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><strong><i>I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance to the full, till it overflows.<\/i><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:left;\">The \u201cthief\u201d is satan.\u00a0\u00a0(I refuse to capitalize his name!).\u00a0\u00a0His job is to cause destruction, steal and kill my life, and my joy.\u00a0\u00a0He is the god of the world (for now).\u00a0\u00a0He is a fallen angel that has set his ways against God and all that God stands for.\u00a0\u00a0Anything he can do to turn us from God, or cause those who are not yet walking with God to think that God\u2019s love is not real, he will.\u00a0It\u2019s his\u00a0pleasure\u00a0to try to ruin the children of God!<\/p>\n<p>Cancer, adultery, rape, molestation, divorce, physical abuse, emotional abuse, and more, are just a few of the tactics that satan uses to destroy God\u2019s children!<\/p>\n<p>But what about hatred, grumpiness, anger, bitterness, unforgiveness, depression?\u00a0\u00a0How do we enjoy life, as God wants us to, if our hearts are filled with these things?<\/p>\n<p>You wake up in the morning and you just feel this heaviness that has set its sites on you.\u00a0\u00a0You just can\u2019t shake it.\u00a0\u00a0You feel numb.\u00a0\u00a0You feel like a zombie.\u00a0\u00a0Nothing looks or tastes good.\u00a0\u00a0Even the sunshine outside looks miserable to you!<\/p>\n<p>You feel fat, ugly, mean, nasty, miserable.\u00a0\u00a0You don\u2019t want to talk to anyone.\u00a0\u00a0You just want to be left alone to work through this, if you can.<\/p>\n<p>How do you get past these feelings?\u00a0\u00a0How do you live beyond these things?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\">____________________<\/p>\n<p>I will say right here that I am absolutely NO expert in this area, but I have learned a few things over the last few years, that I would like to share with you.<\/p>\n<p>I have a tendency to suffer from depression.\u00a0\u00a0Moderate depression.\u00a0\u00a0I\u2019m not talking about clinical depression here, which is far worse and more serious than mild to moderate depression.\u00a0\u00a0If you suffer from clinical depression, please seek counsel from your doctor and\/or your pastor.<\/p>\n<p><i>I do not have any degrees in counseling or psychology.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>I am just a person who has struggled with these types of things in my life, and the Lord has brought me through it.\u00a0\u00a0That is what I want to share with you today.\u00a0\u00a0The how\u2019s\u2026..<\/p>\n<p>People used to tell me \u201cChristi, you just need to get over it.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0Yes, I could clearly see that.\u00a0\u00a0But what I didn\u2019t know was HOW! \u00a0How was I suppose to just \u201cget over it\u201d? \u00a0How do I get past the anger, bitterness, depression, unforgiveness, and even more emotions that sometimes can toy with people\u2019s emotions and hearts?<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><b><i>Stay in the Word. \u00a0<b><i>Stay in the Word. \u00a0<b><i>Stay in the Word.<\/i><\/b><\/i><\/b><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>It can\u2019t be that simple, can it?<\/p>\n<p>When people would tell me this in the beginning, I would think \u201cRight! I\u2019m in the Word every single day! I\u2019m still struggling!\u201d\u00a0\u00a0But you know what?\u00a0\u00a0I had to keep on keepin\u2019 on, as the expression goes.\u00a0\u00a0My \u201ccure\u201d wasn\u2019t going to happen overnight!\u00a0\u00a0I had to learn how to be at peace with who I was and what God was doing in my life!\u00a0\u00a0Without His peace, I struggled every day!!!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:left;\"><strong>\u00a0<i style=\"text-align:center;\">I could only learn about His peace through His word! \u00a0<\/i><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Staying in the word doesn\u2019t always been reading the bible\u00a0all\u00a0the time!\u00a0\u00a0It can also include good books by Christian authors.\u00a0\u00a0Watching DVD\u2019s from Christian evangelists.\u00a0\u00a0Turning on praise and worship music to allow your mind to be filled with the word through music!\u00a0\u00a0There is so much more to it than just reading the bible!<\/p>\n<p>You will also notice that in order to suffocate the negativity in our lives, means that you actually have to get up and\u00a0do something!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\">\u00a0<strong style=\"text-align:center;\"><i>Do something to fight the negativity!<\/i><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You can\u2019t just sit there and expect it to just go away on its own!\u00a0\u00a0You have to actually do something to fight these emotions daily!\u00a0\u00a0To read the bible, you have to get up, go get your bible, and turn the pages, correct?\u00a0\u00a0To listen to music, you actually have to get up, go to the stereo, choose the music and then turn the stereo on, correct?\u00a0\u00a0You have to\u00a0\u00addo something first!!!<\/p>\n<p><i>James 1:22<\/i><i>\u00a0<\/i><span style=\"color:#000000;\"><i><span style=\"color:#000000;\">&#8212;\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/span><i>\u201cBut be\u00a0doers\u00a0of the Word [obey the message],\u00a0and not merely listeners to it\u2026\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><b><i>To be a &#8220;Doer&#8221;\u2026<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><b><i>means you have to DO SOMETHING!<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>So what are some things that we can do to remove the negativity out of our lives?\u00a0\u00a0Below I have listed some tips that have helped me over the years.\u00a0\u00a0If you have other tips, I\u2019d love for you to share them in the comments section below.\u00a0\u00a0The tips below are listed in no particular order.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<ul style=\"text-align:left;\">\n<li>Read the Word<\/li>\n<li>Pray<\/li>\n<li>Listen to Praise Music<\/li>\n<li>Go for a walk<\/li>\n<li>Go outside barefoot<\/li>\n<li>Call a friend<\/li>\n<li>Go to lunch with a friend<\/li>\n<li>Take a warm soothing bath<\/li>\n<li>Find a hobby that will take your mind off of problems<\/li>\n<li>Seek Counsel<\/li>\n<li>Go for a massage<\/li>\n<li>Get a new haircut<\/li>\n<li>AVOIDS NEGATIVE PEOPLE!<\/li>\n<li>Try to find the GOOD in your situation<\/li>\n<li>Stop saying negative things to yourself<\/li>\n<li>Practice breathing slowly<\/li>\n<li>Read a positive book curled up in bed<\/li>\n<li>Ask someone to be your &#8220;vent partner&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Practice grace under pressure<\/li>\n<li>Be responsible for your feelings<\/li>\n<li>Learn to meet your own needs<\/li>\n<li>Exercise every day<\/li>\n<li>Learn the words to a new song<\/li>\n<li>Write a note to a far away friend<\/li>\n<li>Keep a journal<\/li>\n<li>Practice a monster smile<\/li>\n<li>Quit trying to &#8220;fix&#8221; other people<\/li>\n<li>Get enough sleep<\/li>\n<li>Talk less and listen more<\/li>\n<li>Volunteer at a Shelter or Food Pantry<\/li>\n<li>Freely praise other people<\/li>\n<li>Have a support network of people, places and things<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>These are just a few tips on how to get past a negative attitude and walk in peace and joy! \u00a0But truthfully, it all starts with YOU!\u00a0\u00a0What will YOU do to change your circumstances?
