{This final week of 2015 we will be re-visiting some of my personal favorite themes on which our wonderful writers have shared with us throughout this past year. \u00a0I hope that you (as I was, too!) will be encouraged and reminded of God’s faithfulness and loving care through their inspired words.<\/em>}<\/p>\n

\n

As for God, His way is\u00a0blameless.<\/span>
\nThe Word of the Lord<\/span> is tested [it is perfect, it is faultless];<\/span>
\nHe is a Shield to all who take refuge in Him.
\nPsalm 18:30<\/span><\/p>\n

*\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0~ \u00a0 \u2665 \u00a0 ~\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u271e\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0~ \u00a0\u2665 \u00a0 ~ \u00a0 *\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

During this week, our devotional writers have greatly encouraged us as they shared their belief and trust that God is our Shield, protecting us and providing refuge for us. \u00a0My own heart was encouraged to remember that the Scriptures are God’s own words that bring us His promises. \u00a0Please click on each link to read each complete devotional; here are a few excerpts from their thoughts\u2026.<\/p>\n

In Take Heed<\/a><\/em>, Clella<\/span><\/strong> reminded us that we need to know and heed to God and His promises\u2026<\/p>\n

\n

\u201c\u2026Because God\u2019s way is perfect, and His word is flawless, and He has promised to protect His children, we need to take heed. \u00a0Yes, like David, we have enemies\u2014whether in the physical or in the spiritual\u2014who try to \u201centangle us with cords of death\u201d (Psalms 18:4-5). \u00a0But if we take heed of God and His Word, He will \u201davenge us, and save us from our enemies\u201d (Psalms 18:47-48). \u00a0When we are faithfully in God\u2019s Word, then we will know God and experience His deliverance\u2026.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

In Daddy\u2019s Protection<\/em><\/a>, Tina\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>gave us the example of God\u2019s love has protected us\u2026.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cRemember, as a child, how our dad was our hero? \u00a0How he could not do any wrong in our eyes? \u00a0Well, God wants us to love and trust Him like that\u2026As we grew older our dads made mistakes, because they are human. They maybe did not show up at a ballgame, dance recital or have time to listen. \u00a0But I know Who does\u2014God our Father<\/em>. \u00a0He has time to listen to all of our issues. \u00a0He is always there\u2026.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\u2766<\/span><\/h2>\n

In God\u2019s Pure Word<\/a><\/em>, Ann<\/span><\/strong> shared the blessings and benefits of God\u2019s Word\u2026<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are benefits and value to God\u2019s Law and Word.<\/p>\n

The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart.
\nThe commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes.
\nPsalm 19:8<\/p>\n

The \u2018precepts<\/em> of the Lord\u2019 are definite rules concerning righteous living that are a joy to the godly. \u00a0The \u2018commands<\/em> of the Lord\u2019 are the authoritative source of guiding light for the faithful who seek His way\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

In There is Refuge in God\u2019s Word<\/em><\/a>, Ahmee<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>pointed us to some important reminders of the refuge and warnings that God\u2019s words can be for us\u2026<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cI know our verse (Psalm 18:30) is most likely referring to physical refuge<\/em>\u2014as in keeping you safe from bodily harm. But when I read it the first refuge<\/em> I thought of was\u00a0emotional refuge<\/em>. \u00a0Life can be rough and it has this way of wearing you down, if you let it. \u00a0God\u2019s Word does have a way of warning us about certain situations. However, whether we listen, or not, is up to us. \u00a0I think Proverbs is a really great book that lets us know \u201cIf<\/strong> this\u2026then that<\/strong>\u201d. \u00a0We can find refuge in the Lord\u2019s words by avoiding these situations\u2026.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
