\u00a0And they know oh-so-very many songs&#8212;from little ones Bible lullabies to Sunday School songs to popular praise&amp;worship that their Dad and Mom (and PopPop and Tata!) play while travelling out and about. \u00a0But this little song from the <strong>GoFish Guys<\/strong> seems to be popular on everyone\u2019s playlist!<\/p>\n<p>I asked them \u201cWhat does it mean to \u2018<strong><em>do my best\u2019<\/em><\/strong> for God?\u201d \u00a0Kaylie Joy responded, \u201cWelllllll, I\u00a0<em>guess<\/em> it means to obey Him\u2026the best I can.\u201d \u00a0Levi, singing away (with his voice AND his body!), \u201cobey my dad and mom\u2026and you, too, TaTa!\u201d \u00a0And when I prompted Elijah, a man of few words, singing \u201cGod, I&#8217;ll love You forever\u201d he signed \u2018LOVE\u2019 right back to me.<\/p>\n<p>And I thought to myself that from their perspective, it is pretty darn simple. \u00a0But sometime it gets rather complicated for me. \u00a0 At times, I am tempted to think that my efforts, my good works, my trying hard are the things that i should be doing to <em><strong>do my best\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>for my God. \u00a0(Ummmm\u2026no.) \u00a0I was convicted in my heart\u2026as I realized it is no more complicated for me (a follower of Jesus Christ for almost 35 years) than for children who have just begun a relationship with Him. \u00a0The motivation for each of us is exactly the same&#8212;<em><strong>do<\/strong><\/em><strong><em>ing my best<\/em><\/strong> for God is\u00a0<strong><em>LOVE<\/em><\/strong>\u2014<em>His love for me<\/em> and me proving<em> my love for Him<\/em>!<\/p>\n<p><em>His love for us<\/em>\u00a0(oh-how-He-loves-us-so!\u00a0) is unconditional. \u00a0We cannot earn\u2026or do anything to provoke Him to love us. \u00a0He simply DOES love us.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up<br \/>\nHis only begotten Son, so that whoever believes in Him shall not perish<br \/>\n(come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life.<br \/>\nJohn 3:16<\/p>\n<p>And <em>our love for Him<\/em>\u00a0 is proven or shown by our adherence to His commands.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">But whoever keeps His word, in him truly the love of God is perfected.<br \/>\n1 John 2:5<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">By this we know that we love the children of God,<br \/>\nwhen we love God and observe His commandments.<br \/>\n1 John 5:2<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments.<br \/>\nAnd His commandments are not burdensome.<br \/>\nVerse 3<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">And this is love, that we walk according to His commandments\u2026.<br \/>\n2 John 1:6<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.<br \/>\nJohn 14:15<\/p>\n<p>So \u2018<em><strong>doing my best<\/strong><\/em>\u2019 for God is much more about loving Him and wanting to live in such a way that <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">proves<\/span> my love!
