{"id":28093,"date":"2015-10-12T00:20:12","date_gmt":"2015-10-12T04:20:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/?p=28093"},"modified":"2015-10-11T16:20:00","modified_gmt":"2015-10-11T20:20:00","slug":"truth-we-can-depend-on","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/2015\/10\/12\/truth-we-can-depend-on\/","title":{"rendered":"Truth We Can Depend On"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/SeekingHimLogo.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-13840\" src=\"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/SeekingHimLogo.jpg\" alt=\"SeekingHimLogo\" width=\"560\" height=\"280\" srcset=\"https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/SeekingHimLogo.jpg 560w, https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/SeekingHimLogo-300x150.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 560px) 100vw, 560px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Comic Sans MS', sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; color: #008080;\">Every word of God proves true.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: 'Comic Sans MS', sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; color: #008080;\"> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0He is a shield to all who come to Him for protection. <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: 'Comic Sans MS', sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; color: #008080;\">Proverbs 30:5 \u00a0NLT<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #008080;\">*\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0~ \u00a0 \u2665 \u00a0 ~\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u271e\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0~ \u00a0\u2665 \u00a0 ~ \u00a0 *<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0And The Message version reads,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Every promise of God proves true;<br \/>\nHe protects everyone who runs to Him for help.<\/p>\n<p>Does it boggle your mind to try to understand that every (all possible) word of God proves (shows beyond doubt) that it is true (accurate, faithful)? \u00a0In our human experience, with ourselves and with those around us, we know that kind of perfection and faithfulness doesn\u2019t exist 100% of the time.<\/p>\n<p>Thankfully, it <em>is<\/em> true for God\u2019s Word. \u00a0In the Amplified, it says His words are &#8220;&#8230;tested and refined like silver.&#8221; \u00a0And Psalm 12:6 states, \u201cThe\u00a0Lord\u2019s promises are pure, like silver refined in a furnace, purified seven times over.\u201d \u00a0That leaves absolutely no imperfections.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Your promises have been thoroughly tested;<br \/>\nthat is why I love them so much.<br \/>\nPsalm 119:140<\/p>\n<p>Because of this purity, God\u2019s Word is sure and we can trust it. \u00a0God is one with His Word. \u00a0God promises to protect all who come to Him, and we can be sure He will.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">God is our Refuge and Strength [mighty and impenetrable],<br \/>\nA very present\u00a0<em>and<\/em>\u00a0well-proved help in trouble.<br \/>\nPsalm 46:1 AMP<\/p>\n<p>In the midst of life\u2019s conflicts and disappointments, God is our Shield. Shields come in many different shapes and sizes. Some are tall to cover the warrior from head to toe. Some other shapes are made to protect the most vital organs, and to deflect the enemy\u2019s weapons from harming the warrior. Spiritually speaking, God does exactly that. \u00a0When we come (run) to Him, He is there to protect us from the \u201cfiery darts\u201d of the enemy. \u00a0In Ephesians 6:16, God says, \u201c&#8230;in <em>all<\/em> circumstances<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> <em>take up<\/em><\/span> the shield of faith.\u201d \u00a0God is there for us, but in faith we must come to Him and accept (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">take up<\/span>) His protection.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The more we know Jesus, the more we will know God\u2019s Word:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">In the beginning was the Word,<br \/>\nand\u00a0the Word was with God,<br \/>\nand the Word was God.<br \/>\nAnd\u00a0the Word became flesh and\u00a0dwelt among us,<br \/>\nand we have seen His glory,<br \/>\nglory as of the only Son from the Father,<br \/>\nfull of\u00a0grace and\u00a0truth.<br \/>\nJohn 1:1, 14<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><sup>\u00a0<\/sup>The more we know Jesus, the more we know the Father:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I and the Father are one.<br \/>\nJohn 10:30<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The more we know Jesus, the more we know the Father\u2019s Truth:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Jesus told him, &#8220;I am the way, the truth, and the life.<br \/>\nNo one can come to the Father except through Me.\u201d<br \/>\nJohn 14:6<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The more we know Jesus, the more we will be sanctified and protected by God\u2019s Truth.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Sanctify them in the truth; Your Word is truth.<br \/>\nJohn 17:17<\/p>\n<p>If we will study Jesus&#8212;His life, His words, His relationships with others, and His relationship with God the Father&#8212;we will know that God\u2019s Word is truth and we can trust it. \u00a0We will have the assurance that we can run to God and find the protection we need. \u00a0We will walk in faith, and be shielded by Him.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #008080;\">*\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0~ \u00a0 \u2665 \u00a0 ~\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u271e\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0~ \u00a0\u2665 \u00a0 ~ \u00a0 *<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Dear God, we are so grateful that we have Your Word to turn to. \u00a0Life is not easy, and, we need Your protection even when we don\u2019t realize it. \u00a0Help us, Lord, not to just \u201cpick up\u201d Your shield in times of imminent danger&#8230;but to live our lives getting to know Jesus, Your Word, so we can be in Your protection at all times. \u00a0Thank You for the promise that \u201cEvery word of God proves true.\u201d \u00a0In Jesus\u2019 Precious Name we pray, Amen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Every word of God proves true. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0He is a shield to all who come to Him for protection.
