are they than gold<br \/>\nYea, than much fine gold<\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080;\"><em>Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"verse\"><span id=\"en-KJ21-14155\" class=\"text Ps-19-8\" style=\"color: #800080;\">The statutes of the\u00a0<span class=\"small-caps\">Lord<\/span> are right, rejoicing the heart<br \/>\nThe commandment of the <span class=\"small-caps\">Lord\u00a0<\/span>is clean, enduring for ever<br \/>\nThe judgments of the <span class=\"small-caps\">Lord<\/span> are true and righteous altogether<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"verse\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><span id=\"en-KJ21-14158\" class=\"text Ps-19-11\">Moreover by them is Thy servant warned<br \/>\nAnd in keeping of them there is great reward<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"text Ps-19-12\">Who can understand his errors<br \/>\nCleanse Thou me from secret faults<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"verse\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><span id=\"en-KJ21-14160\" class=\"text Ps-19-13\">Keep back Thy servant also from presumptuous sins<br \/>\nLet them not have dominion over me<br \/>\nThen shall I be upright, and I shall #800080;\">*\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0~ \u00a0 \u2665 \u00a0 ~\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u271e\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0~ \u00a0\u2665 \u00a0 ~ \u00a0 *<\/span><\/p>\n<p>We hear in this sweet song (and read in Psalm 19:7-14 which inspired it) \u00a0that God\u2019s commands (His laws, His statutes, His precepts, His decrees) are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong><em>perfect<\/em><\/strong>&#8230;they convert our souls<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong><em>right<\/em><\/strong>&#8230;they give joy to our hearts<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><b><i>sure<\/i><\/b>&#8230;they make us wise<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong><em>pure<\/em><\/strong>&#8230;they give light to our eyes<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><b><i>true<\/i><\/b>&#8230;they all are righteous<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong><em>clean<\/em><\/strong>&#8230;they endure forever<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>How encouraging is that?!?\u00a0 What a merciful, gracious, kind, compassionate God we serve! \u00a0Throughout time, He has communicated with His people and given them His commands&#8212;which, in this psalm, include His laws, statutes, precepts, and decrees.<\/p>\n<p>In the beginning, God told His man, Adam, ONE simple command\u2014not to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil in the Garden (Genesis 2).\u00a0 To the children of Israel as they journeyed for forty years to the Promised Land, He gave them His rules to follow (e.g, Deuteronomy 6).\u00a0 When Jesus was instructing His disciples, He pulled it all together, giving them TWO direct commandments\u20141) to love God with their whole heart, soul, mind, all their strength and 2) to love their fellow man as they loved themselves (Mark 12:29-31).\u00a0 Our hearts&#8217; response to our loving God should be loving obedience&#8230;plain and simple.\u00a0 I pray that the\u00a0following verses will be a reminder and encouragement for us all to trust and obey the Great I AM.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">In fact, this is love for God: to keep His commands.<br \/>\nAnd His commands are not burdensome.<br \/>\n1 John 5:3<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I obey your precepts and Your statutes, for all my ways are known to You.<br \/>\nPsalm 119:168<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Blessed are those who keep His statutes and seek Him with all their heart\u2014<br \/>\nPsalm 119:2<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\">*\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0~ \u00a0 \u2665 \u00a0 ~\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u271e\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0~ \u00a0\u2665 \u00a0 ~ \u00a0 *<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Thank You, dear Lord, for how gracious, kind, and merciful You are to us.\u00a0 You are not a harsh, exacting God Who demands perfection&#8230;rather You are a loving Father Who sets righteous, life-giving commands before us!\u00a0 You guide us and help us to seek You and obey You from our hearts.\u00a0 You are SO good!!!\u00a0 We love You, Father&#8230;and pray in
