(How about you?)<\/p>\n<p>As I went about my day I kept hearing this passage over and over in my mind as I sang and hummed this tune. \u00a0So simple and yet such a beautiful and complex melody! \u00a0I love the solemn, somber tone of the cello and the sweetness of the violin (in this recording) as the musicians play along with the pianist. \u00a0And, of course, Kathy Troccoli\u2019s beautiful voice. \u00a0But what I love the most is that by hearing it over and over, the words\u2014the Scripture\u2014has sunk into my memory and now I can truly \u2018\u2026call to mind, and therefore I have hope\u2026\u2019. \u00a0Memorizing verses from God\u2019s Word is such an important thing to do. \u00a0Here\u2019s why I say that\u2026.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Your word I have treasured in my heart, that I may not sin against You.<br \/>\nPsalm 119:11 NASB<\/p>\n<p>Those two phrases \u2018but this I call to mind\u2019 and \u2018Your Word I have treasured in my heart\u2019 are each relating to <strong>really<\/strong> <em>knowing<\/em> and <em>treasuring<\/em> the Scriptures.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope:<br \/>\nThe steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;<br \/>\nHis mercies never come to an end;<br \/>\nThey are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.<br \/>\n\u201cThe Lord is my portion,\u201d says my soul, \u201ctherefore I will hope in Him.\u201d<br \/>\nThe Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him.<br \/>\nIt is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.<br \/>\nLamentations 3:21-26<\/p>\n<p>Almighty God even described Himself as having \u2018steadfast love.\u2019 \u00a0When God met with Moses, and gave him the Ten Commandments, the first thing He did was make Himself known to Moses.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The Lord descended in the cloud and stood with him there,<br \/>\nand proclaimed the name of the Lord.<br \/>\nThe Lord passed before him and proclaimed,<br \/>\n\u201cThe Lord, the Lord, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger,<br \/>\nand abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness,<br \/>\nkeeping steadfast love for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin\u2026..<br \/>\nExodus 34:5\u20137<\/p>\n<p>Isn\u2019t it AWEsome that what Almighty God told Moses about Himself was that He is<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>merciful<\/li>\n<li>gracious<\/li>\n<li>slow to anger<\/li>\n<li>abounding in steadfast love<\/li>\n<li>faithful<\/li>\n<li>keeps steadfast love<\/li>\n<li>forgiving<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u2026and twice (\u2018and this I call to mind\u2019) He mentions that His love is steadfast!!!<\/p>\n<p>Throughout the entire history of mankind\u2014from Adam &amp; Eve and all the way along through the Scriptures\u2014we read of the myriad of ways that our Great God has manifested His steadfast love. So, in our pursuit of calling to mind the never-ceasing, steadfast love of the Lord, we would need to remember some examples of His steadfast love. The psalmist spoke of God\u2019s steadfast love many, many, many times. \u00a0Undoubtedly, he had this truth \u2018hidden in his heart\u2019 and often would \u2018call this to mind.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Psalm 107 (ESV) is a great starting point (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=psalm+107&amp;version=ESV\" target=\"_blank\">you can go here <\/a>to read the whole psalm, if you like). \u00a0Here the psalmist relates quite a number of times (six times!) how God\u2019s steadfast love has redeemed and saved and protected His children. And he reminds them (and us!) to \u2018give thanks to the LORD\u2019 for His steadfast love. The final verse wraps it up:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Whoever is wise, let him attend to these things;<br \/>\nlet them consider the steadfast love of the Lord.<br \/>\nverse 43<\/p>\n<p>Throughout the Bible, God\u2019s people tell of their praise and thanks for His steadfast love. Here are just a few passages&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">But I have trusted in your steadfast love; my heart shall rejoice in your salvation.<br \/>\nI will sing to the Lord, because He has dealt bountifully with me.<br \/>\nPsalms 13:5 and 6<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Your steadfast love, O Lord, extends to the heavens,<br \/>\nYour faithfulness to the clouds.<br \/>\nHow precious is Your steadfast love, O God!<br \/>\nThe children of mankind take refuge in the shadow of Your wings.<br \/>\nThey feast on the abundance of Your house,<br \/>\nand You give them drink from the river of Your delights.<br \/>\nFor with You is the Fountain of life;<br \/>\nin Your Light do we see light.<br \/>\nOh, continue your steadfast love to those who know You,<br \/>\nand Your righteousness to the upright of heart!<br \/>\nPsalms 36:5, 7-9<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I will recount the steadfast love of the Lord,<br \/>\nthe praises of the Lord, according to all that the Lord has granted us,<br \/>\nand the great goodness to the house of Israel<br \/>\nthat He has granted them according to His compassion,<br \/>\naccording to the abundance of His steadfast love.<br \/>\nIsaiah 63:7<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">O Lord God, turn not away the face of [me] Your anointed one;<br \/>\n[earnestly] remember Your good deeds, mercy, and steadfast love for David Your servant\u2026<br \/>\n2 Chronicles 6:42<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Many are the sorrows of the wicked,<br \/>\nbut steadfast love surrounds the one who trusts in the Lord.<br \/>\nPsalm 32:10<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Do you have a favorite verse or two that tells of our great God&#8217;s steadfast love?
