{"id":26767,"date":"2015-07-16T00:15:36","date_gmt":"2015-07-16T04:15:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/?p=26767"},"modified":"2015-07-15T23:25:35","modified_gmt":"2015-07-16T03:25:35","slug":"thank-you-for-the-things-i-have-never-thanked-you-for","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/2015\/07\/16\/thank-you-for-the-things-i-have-never-thanked-you-for\/","title":{"rendered":"Thank You (for the things I have never thanked You for)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/psalmshymnsspiritualsongskjv.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-16629\" src=\"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/psalmshymnsspiritualsongskjv.jpg\" alt=\"psalmshymnsspiritualsongskjv\" width=\"341\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/psalmshymnsspiritualsongskjv.jpg 341w, https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/psalmshymnsspiritualsongskjv-300x175.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 341px) 100vw, 341px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Thank You for the things<br \/>\nThat I never thanked You for <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080;\">You\u2019ve given everything I need<br \/>\nAnd still I asked for more <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080;\">It\u2019s not that I\u2019m ungrateful<br \/>\nI\u2019m just forgetful, Lord <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080;\">So I thank You for the things<br \/>\nThat I\u2019ve never thanked You for<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><em>There are so many blessings that You have given me <\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080;\"><em>Things I take for granted everyday <\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080;\"><em>The beauty of creation and the promise of my salvation <\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080;\"><em>Lord, help me to remember when I pray<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Now when my way grows weary<br \/>\nAnd rest is hard to find <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080;\">And sometimes I can\u2019t see<br \/>\nMy way through <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080;\">And when it seems that I am blinded<br \/>\nThat\u2019s when I need to be reminded <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080;\">That the strength I thought was mine<br \/>\n\u2026It came from You<\/span><\/p>\n<p><center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/-1DpGeeAQ6Q\" width=\"420\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/center><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">~ \u00a0<em>The Isaacs<\/em> \u00a0~<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\">*\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0~ \u00a0 \u2665 \u00a0 ~\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u271e\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0~ \u00a0\u2665 \u00a0 ~ \u00a0 *<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The simple words of this bluegrass ballad are, sadly, so true: we <em>do<\/em> forget to give God thanks and we <em>do<\/em> take for granted oh-so-very-many things that God has done for us. \u00a0I am ashamed that I can sing the line \u2018<em><span style=\"color: #800080;\">You\u2019ve given everything I need\u2026and still I asked for more<\/span><\/em>\u2019 right along with the Isaacs Family. \u00a0Oh, it\u2019s not that I am not thankful\u2014I am SO thankful! \u00a0Or that I don\u2019t voice my thanks and praise to my heavenly Father. \u00a0And I am SURE you do, too! \u00a0But truly our mouths should be filled with thanks and not petitions.<\/p>\n<p>Here is just one short passage full of\u00a0incredible blessings (I\u2019ve counted more than ten things to praise and thank Him for):<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials, so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">1 Peter 1: 3-7<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>And another:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him. In love He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved. In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace which He lavished on us. In all wisdom and insight He made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His kind intention which He purposed in Him with a view to an administration suitable to the fullness of the times, that is, the summing up of all things in Christ, things in the heavens and things on the earth. In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to His purpose who works all things after the counsel of His will, to the end that we who were the first to hope in Christ would be to the praise of His glory.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Ephesians 1:3-12<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201c<em><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Thank You for the things that I\u2019ve never thanked You for<\/span><\/em>!\u201d \u00a0Have we <em>intentionally <strong>thanked<\/strong><\/em> God for being \u2018blessed\u2026with every spiritual blessing\u2026in Christ\u2019? Or <em>purposefully <strong>thanked<\/strong><\/em> Him for being \u2018predestined according to His purpose\u2026to the end that we\u2026would be to the praise of His glory\u2019? \u00a0Or <em><strong>thanked<\/strong> <\/em>Him from the depth of our hearts for the truth that \u2018He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world that we would be holy and blameless before Him\u2019?<\/p>\n<p>Our giving of thanks to God should fill our days!
