So let us seize\u00a0and hold fast<\/span>
\nand\u00a0retain without wavering<\/span>
\nthe hope we cherish<\/span>
\nand\u00a0confess and our acknowledgement of it,<\/span>
\nfor He Who promised is reliable<\/span>
\n(sure) and\u00a0faithful to His Word.<\/span>
\nHebrews 10:23 AMP<\/span><\/p>\n

This week, here on the Seeking Him<\/em><\/strong> devotional blog, we are finishing a mini-series on the subject of HOPE<\/strong>. \u00a0Our devotional writers have shared the Truth given us in this week\u2019s passage reminding us that \u2018we boast in the hope of the glory of God<\/em>\u2019! \u00a0Here are a few of their thoughts\u2026.<\/p>\n

In Hope (A Profession),<\/em> Ann<\/span><\/strong> encouraged us with these words…<\/p>\n

In the KJV the same verse says, ‘Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering\u00a0(for He is faithful that promised).’<\/p>\n

What are we seeing here? \u00a0Hope<\/em> is the profession<\/strong> of our faith<\/em>. \u00a0What is \u00a0\u2018profession\u2019 then? \u00a0In biblical terms, this is a calling. \u00a0It is \u2018an occupation, practice, or vocation requiring mastery of a complex set of knowledge and skills through formal education and\/or practical\u2026\u2019.<\/p>\n

So if we take the AMP version that we should hold fast\u2026without wavering\u2026the hope,<\/strong><\/em> we are saying we should take the profession<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>of our faith\u00a0without wavering.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

In Unswerving Hope,<\/em> Ahmee<\/span> <\/strong>shared her own testimony and reminded us of Abraham and Sarah and their hope….<\/p>\n

When I first got saved this verse held me up through many storms and confused nights. \u00a0I\u2019d cry from feeling so close to defeat, but would cling to knowing that \u201cHe who promised is faithful.\u201d \u00a0Written in my Bible I have a note next to this verse that says \u201cregardless of how things seem!<\/em>\u201d How true?!<\/p>\n

God promises us things that seem so impossible sometimes. \u00a0We know that His promises are true. \u00a0We know He cannot tell a lie and we know He is faithful. \u00a0And yet, what our eyes see and our minds perceive is something totally different. \u00a0The question remains: \u201cWhich do you believe?\u201d We rely on our eyes daily to show us the world around us. Our eyes are tangible. However, we KNOW that God is to be trusted. Both seem right.<\/p>\n
