\u00a0My husband loves the stuff, so we always have a few mongo-sized tubs of it in the pantry. \u00a0There are \u00a0dozens of varieties &#8211; whey, casein, hemp, or pea, to name and few &#8211; and as many different flavors, though for most recipes, I would suggest you stick with vanilla. \u00a0When you need a sweet treat (and come on, we ALL do sometimes) but don&#8217;t want to feel overly guilty, whip up a batch of these <strong>Protein Powder Cookie Bars<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes you know you need protein and you just don&#8217;t want to fry some eggs or eat that leftover chicken breast. \u00a0Protein powder to the rescue! \u00a0I&#8217;m normally a champion of whole foods, but sometimes there really is better living through chemistry. \u00a0This recipe comes together completely in the food processor and takes just a few minutes to make. \u00a0Hold out for the bars to firm up in the fridge or freezer, and you have a candy bar that doesn&#8217;t break the calorie bank. \u00a0This is totally customizable and deserves a go. \u00a0Ready?<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Protein Powder Cookie Bars<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Ingredients:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 cup roasted, salted\u00a0almonds (leave skins on for extra fiber)<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup coconut oil<\/li>\n<li>2 cups oats<\/li>\n<li>1 cup protein powder (vanilla casein or whey both work here)<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup shredded coconut<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup mini chocolate chips<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Directions:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>In the food processor, add the coconut oil to the almonds and make almond butter. \u00a0Then add the ingredients, one by one, and mix after each addition.<\/li>\n<li>When you have a mixture that feels like heavy, wet sand, pour it out into a metal loaf pan. \u00a0Flatten it out with your hands or a spatula and freeze or refrigerate until very firm. \u00a0Cut into 4&#8243; x 1&#8243; bars. \u00a0(You could go crazy and drizzle these bars with melted chocolate!) \u00a0Store in the fridge or freezer until ready to eat.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Explore, experiment, enjoy!<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 Dana<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>To view even more of Dana\u2019s unique recipe, you can visit her at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/frugalgirlmet.blogspot.com\/\">Frugal Girlmet<\/a>!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Have you ever used protein powder?
