{"id":26276,"date":"2015-06-15T00:20:28","date_gmt":"2015-06-15T04:20:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/?p=26276"},"modified":"2015-06-14T10:52:08","modified_gmt":"2015-06-14T14:52:08","slug":"hope-in-the-lord","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/2015\/06\/15\/hope-in-the-lord\/","title":{"rendered":"Hope In The Lord"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em><a href=\"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/SeekingHimLogo.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-13840\" src=\"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/SeekingHimLogo.jpg\" alt=\"SeekingHimLogo\" width=\"560\" height=\"280\" srcset=\"https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/SeekingHimLogo.jpg 560w, https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/SeekingHimLogo-300x150.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 560px) 100vw, 560px\" \/><\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Comic Sans MS', sans-serif; color: #008080;\">For this is what the Lord has said: When seventy years are ended for Babylon, <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: 'Comic Sans MS', sans-serif; color: #008080;\">I will have pity on you and give effect to My good purpose for you, <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: 'Comic Sans MS', sans-serif; color: #008080;\">causing you to come back to this place. <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: 'Comic Sans MS', sans-serif; color: #008080;\">For I am conscious of My thoughts about you, says the Lord, <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: 'Comic Sans MS', sans-serif; color: #008080;\">thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you hope at the end.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: 'Comic Sans MS', sans-serif; color: #008080;\">Jeremiah 29:10-11 BBE<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Hope (here in this passage) refers to something to look forward to, or to anticipate, usually with pleasure. \u00a0God was telling His people of when they would go into exile; they would have a <span style=\"color: #008080;\"><em>hope<\/em> <\/span>of coming home.<\/p>\n<p>God did not want to send His people into exile. \u00a0He wanted them to listen to the warnings of Jeremiah before He punished His people. \u00a0The people just scoffed at Jeremiah, choosing to ignore God\u2019s warnings. \u00a0Thinking, \u201cHere is Jeremiah again; saying bad things are going to happen to us!\u201d \u00a0Scripture tells us of Jeremiah\u2019s frustration at being treated lightly by those listening.<\/p>\n<p>Daniel, who was one of those who were taken into exile in Babylon.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">In the first year of his rule, I, Daniel, saw clearly from the books the number of years<br \/>\ngiven by the word of the Lord to the prophet Jeremiah,<br \/>\nin which the making waste of Jerusalem was to be complete, that is, seventy years.<br \/>\nDaniel 9:2 BBE<\/p>\n<p>Daniel was a man after God\u2019s own heart. \u00a0He immediately began praying, asking forgiveness of sins for himself and for those of God\u2019s people. \u00a0Daniel was in reverent awe of God\u2019s mercy, grace, and righteousness toward them. \u00a0Daniel\u2019s prayer is an example of intercessory prayer. \u00a0We should all strive to do this, and most of us moms do pray and intercede regularly for our children and our family. \u00a0Our hope is in God\u2019s mercy and forgiveness. \u00a0We have to be willing for God to use us where needed. \u00a0He will use our willingness to serve to give <em><span style=\"color: #008080;\">hope<\/span> <\/em>to those who have no <span style=\"color: #008080;\"><em>hope<\/em><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Often, when we feel we are not worthy, that is when God will use us. \u00a0When we are empty of ourselves is when God can fill us with His <span style=\"color: #008080;\"><em>hope<\/em><\/span> and joy until it overflows and effects others around us. \u00a0When we are free of ourselves is when He can work mightily through us.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #008080;\">\u00a0*\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0~ \u00a0 \u2665 \u00a0 ~\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u271e\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0~ \u00a0\u2665 \u00a0 ~ \u00a0 *<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Father, thank You for telling us of how You loved Your people so much that You would send them to exile in a foreign nation&#8230;only to bring a remnant back to rebuild Your holy city. \u00a0You have shown the great hope you have for Your people and how You continue to give us opportunities to shine and be a light for You. Forgive us for being prideful and thinking we can do everything ourselves without Your help. You are our Strength, our Shield, and our Hope in this crazy, mixed-up world. \u00a0Thank You for Your love is all things. \u00a0In Jesus\u2019 name, amen!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For this is what the Lord has said: When seventy years are ended for Babylon, I will have pity on you and give effect to My good purpose for you, causing you to come back to this place.
