Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. <\/span>
\nIn His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope <\/span>
\nthrough the resurrection of Jesus Christ
\nfrom the dead <\/span>and into an inheritance
\nthat can never perish, spoil or fade \u2013 <\/span>kept in heaven for you,
\nwho through faith are shielded by God\u2019s power<\/span>
\nuntil the coming of the salvation
\nthat is ready to be revealed in the last time. <\/span>
\n1 Peter 1:3-5<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0*\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0~ \u00a0 \u2665 \u00a0 ~\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u271e\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0~ \u00a0\u2665 \u00a0 ~ \u00a0 *<\/span><\/p>\n

This week, here on the Seeking Him<\/em><\/strong> <\/span>devotional blog, we are continuing a mini-series on the subject of HOPE<\/strong>. \u00a0Our devotional writers have shared the Truth given us in this week’s passage reminding us that biblical<\/em> hope<\/span><\/strong> is a ‘living<\/em> hope<\/span><\/strong>!’ Here are a few of their thoughts\u2026.<\/p>\n

\u00a0In Imperishable Hope,<\/em> Tina<\/span><\/strong> reminded us of God’s promise.<\/p>\n

Did you just read what Peter said? \u00a0We have a living hope<\/span>\u00a0<\/em>to an\u00a0imperishable inheritance<\/em>\u00a0\u00a0through Jesus\u2019 resurrection<\/em> from the dead. \u00a0<\/em>AND it is a place reserved in heaven\u00a0<\/em>with Jesus and our Father. \u00a0What a great promise we have!<\/p>\n

We all have a hope<\/span> to be with God in Heaven one day. \u00a0As we have accepted Christ as our Lord and Savior we will be there. \u00a0It is like waiting to go on a long-awaited trip, or finally being able to accomplish a dream…\u00a0God has a plan to bring us to Him as His own. \u00a0Our hope<\/span> is in Him and He is attainable.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u2766<\/span><\/h1>\n

In Living Hope<\/em>, Cynda<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0encouraged us with the great value of this inheritance.<\/p>\n

Our hope<\/span> is provided by the death of Christ. \u00a0Because of His Resurrection, our hope<\/span> possesses life and vitality\u2014a living hope<\/em><\/span>. \u00a0We can hold tight to the confident hope<\/span> we have in Christ because He has paved the way for us. \u00a0Look at Hebrews 6:19:<\/p>\n

This hope<\/span> we have as an anchor of the soul,
\nboth sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil,
\nwhere the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus\u2026.<\/p>\n

Amazing, isn\u2019t it? \u00a0Christ went before us to give us hope<\/span> and provide us with an inheritance. \u00a0Ephesians 1:11 states \u201cIn Him also we have obtained an inheritance.\u201d \u00a0As I read through different translations of 1 Peter 1:3-5, these are a few of the words used to describe our eternal inheritance:<\/p>\n

incorruptible, imperishable, undefiled,
\npriceless, unsullied, and unfading<\/h4>\n

Can we say that about any earthly inheritance we might receive? \u00a0Plus, this eternal inheritance is already ours. \u00a0We do not have to do anything to earn it and it can never be taken away from us.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u2766<\/span><\/h1>\n

In Regeneration<\/em>, Ann<\/span> <\/strong>tied another verse together with our theme verse…<\/p>\n

\n

For you have been born again not of perishable seed,
\nbut of imperishable through the living and enduring Word of God.
\n1 Peter 1:23<\/p>\n

Combining these two verses shows us that the resurrection of Jesus Christ has given us a new identity<\/em>. \u00a0We need to embrace this new identity and live a life that is worthy of the calling of child of God. \u00a0We are regenerated\u2014made new<\/em><\/strong>. \u00a0 The old things have gone and behold all things become new. \u00a0Our character, our attitude, our thinking, \u00a0our abilities should match with the new status<\/em> we have been given.<\/p>\n

Dear friends, let us live a life that is pleasing unto God and appreciative of the love that God had for us by sending His Son to die for us to take away the sinful nature and giving us new life<\/em>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u2766<\/span><\/h1>\n

In Hope In Eternity<\/em>, Ahmee<\/span> <\/strong>shared the example of the Apostle Paul and his hope.<\/p>\n

Paul is a very good example of what hope<\/span> on Earth is supposed to look like\u2014He experienced many hardships while here on Earth and yet he never seemed to waver in the hope<\/span> that he experienced. \u00a0He said about his Hope<\/span>,<\/p>\n

He has delivered us from such deadly peril, and He will deliver us again.
\nOn Him we have set our hope<\/span> that He will continue to deliver us,\u201d
\n2 Corinthians 1:10<\/p>\n

Look at the faith that Paul had! \u00a0His hope<\/span> was unwavering. \u00a0Is ours? Are we so consumed with our day-to-day hope in our daily circumstances that we miss out on the big picture? \u00a0Do we sometimes get so consumed with our current situation that we forget what God has done for us? \u00a0His track record proves that we can trust Him\u2026but do we not sometimes forget? \u00a0Doesn\u2019t THIS situation somehow seem different than other situations? \u00a0We forget sometimes that our hope<\/span> is that of an eternal hope<\/span>. \u00a0It can never be misplaced if we are placing it in God. \u00a0It is impossible.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
