{"id":25944,"date":"2015-05-22T00:20:43","date_gmt":"2015-05-22T04:20:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/?p=25944"},"modified":"2015-05-21T11:14:56","modified_gmt":"2015-05-21T15:14:56","slug":"this-week-ephesians-210","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/2015\/05\/22\/this-week-ephesians-210\/","title":{"rendered":"This Week&#8230;Ephesians 2:10"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/SeekingHimLogo.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-13840\" src=\"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/SeekingHimLogo.jpg\" alt=\"SeekingHimLogo\" width=\"560\" height=\"280\" srcset=\"https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/SeekingHimLogo.jpg 560w, https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/SeekingHimLogo-300x150.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 560px) 100vw, 560px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Comic Sans MS', sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; color: #008080;\"> For we are His workmanship,<br \/>\nhaving been created in Christ Jesus for good works,<br \/>\nwhich God has before prepared that we should walk in them.<br \/>\nEphesians 2:10<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #008080;\">*\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0~ \u00a0 \u2665 \u00a0 ~\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u271e\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0~ \u00a0\u2665 \u00a0 ~ \u00a0 *<\/span><\/p>\n<p>This week, here on the<span style=\"color: #008080;\"><strong><em> Seeking Him<\/em><\/strong> <\/span>devotional blog, our sisters have reminded us that we ARE God&#8217;s workmanship, handiwork&#8230;truly His masterpiece. \u00a0Here are a few highlights from the devotionals that Ann, Ahmee, Cynda and Tina wrote earlier this week.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #008080;\">*\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0~ \u00a0 \u2665 \u00a0 ~\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u271e\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0~ \u00a0\u2665 \u00a0 ~ \u00a0 *<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In <strong><em>Finding Purpose<\/em>, <span style=\"color: #008080;\">Ahmee<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong>shared her own struggle in the past in finding her own purpose&#8230;and coming to realize that we do not have one single purpose in life.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;<em>What is my<span style=\"color: #008080;\"><strong> purpose<\/strong><\/span><\/em>? \u00a0This is a question that everyone has to answer. \u00a0People struggle with answering this question\u2026people die trying to answer this question\u2026people search their whole lifetime trying to answer this question. \u00a0Some of us start asking this question at a very young age; some have just always known.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">So, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>your<\/em><\/span><em>\u00a0<\/em><strong><span style=\"color: #008080;\">purpose<\/span><\/strong>? \u00a0Well, your <em>purpose<\/em> can be in the moment. Your <em>purpose<\/em> doesn\u2019t define your worth&#8230;your worth is always found in God Himself. \u00a0Your <em>purpose<\/em> is simply the role(s) you are in at any given moment. \u00a0Your attitude during any season determines whether you see yourself in your <em>purpose<\/em>. \u00a0<em>Purpose<\/em> isn\u2019t just a one-time ultimate goal. \u00a0It shifts. \u00a0God has \u201cgood work<em><strong>s<\/strong><\/em>\u201d for us. \u00a0Not just one single work \/ <em>purpose<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Make sure that you are mindful of your current <em>purpose<\/em>\u2026and not blinded by your end game goal.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #008080;\">\u2766<\/span><\/h1>\n<p>In <strong><em>Good Works<\/em>, <span style=\"color: #008080;\">Ann<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #008080;\">\u00a0<span style=\"color: #000000;\">focused on what <strong><em>are<\/em><\/strong> the good works God has created us for. \u00a0She wrote,<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;The anchor Scripture for this week says we were \u2018created to do good works.\u2019 \u00a0What then are the\u00a0<strong>good works<\/strong>, those that God prepared for us to do in advance?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Matthew 5:16<br \/>\nIn the same way let your light shine before men that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.<\/li>\n<li>1 Timothy 6:18<br \/>\nCommand them to do good to be rich in good deeds and to be generous and willing to share.<\/li>\n<li>Titus 2:7<br \/>\nIn everything set them an example by doing what is good. \u00a0In your teaching show integrity seriousness.<\/li>\n<li>Hebrews 10:24<br \/>\nAnd let us consider how we may spur one another on towards love and good deeds.<\/li>\n<li>James 2:17<br \/>\nFaith by itself, if it is not accompanied by good deeds, is dead.<\/li>\n<li>James 2:18<br \/>\nBut someone will say you have faith I have deeds show me your faith without deeds and I will show you my faith but I do.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Brethren, as we are doing good works it is not unto man but it is unto God (according to the Scriptures). \u00a0Let us take up this noble call with our whole hearts and pursue the calling.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #008080;\">\u2766<\/span><\/h1>\n<p>In <strong><em>Seond Chances<\/em>, <span style=\"color: #008080;\">Tina<\/span><\/strong> reminded us of David (a man after God&#8217;s own heart) and God&#8217;s purposes for him&#8230;and us.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;While David was living his life, he did not know what he was going to be or where God would have him. \u00a0He served God in the areas where he was needed. \u00a0From being a shepherd in his father Jesse\u2019s household to showing up where his brother\u2019s were serving in the king\u2019s army. \u00a0I am certain David did not plan on slaying a giant that day! \u00a0But David did what was asked of him. \u00a0David was not perfect. \u00a0But he did do what was required of him to serve God and His people.<\/p>\n<p>Can you and I have a relationship like David did with God? \u00a0Of course we can. \u00a0God will always be there for us to call upon Him and for us to talk to Him. \u00a0All we have to do is trust Him and believe God wants the best for us. \u00a0Why else would God send His Son Jesus to live among us? Why would God sacrifice his only Son? \u00a0Because He loves us. \u00a0As our Father, He disciplines us, loves us, hugs us and holds our hands all throughout our lives. \u00a0All we have to do is reach for Him.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #008080;\">\u2766<\/span><\/h1>\n<p>And in <strong><em>Living the Good Life<\/em>, <span style=\"color: #008080;\">Cynda<\/span><\/strong> wrote about the good, blessed life God has prepared for us&#8212;truly, a gift!<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;When we carry out the good deeds God has predestined for us, it is a way of expressing our gratitude for the good life He has provided for us. \u00a0In turn, God blesses us even more.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The Lord will open for you His abundant storehouse\u2026.<br \/>\nDeuteronomy 28:12 HCSB<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I promise this very day that I will repay two blessings for each of your troubles.<br \/>\nZephaniah 9:12 NLT<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Job was blessed more in the latter part of His life than in the beginning (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=job%2042%3A12&amp;version=NASB;NLT;NIV;AMP;KJV\" target=\"_blank\">Job 42:12<\/a>). \u00a0As if His abundant gift of mercy and grace wasn\u2019t enough, God chooses to bless us even more. \u00a0We cannot outdo God. \u00a0His gifts are never ending!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Why does God give us gifts we could never earn or hope to repay? \u00a0Because we are His <em>handiwork<\/em>\u2014His <em>masterpiece\u00a0<\/em>\u2014born anew through the death of Christ on the Cross; which is the greatest gift of all. \u00a0All because God loves each one of us more than we could ever imagine!&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For we are His workmanship, having been created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God has before prepared that we should walk in them.
