{"id":25911,"date":"2015-05-20T00:15:31","date_gmt":"2015-05-20T04:15:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/?p=25911"},"modified":"2015-05-19T23:47:23","modified_gmt":"2015-05-20T03:47:23","slug":"you-are-god-alone","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/2015\/05\/20\/you-are-god-alone\/","title":{"rendered":"You Are God Alone"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/psalmshymnsspiritualsongskjv.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-16629\" src=\"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/psalmshymnsspiritualsongskjv.jpg\" alt=\"psalmshymnsspiritualsongskjv\" width=\"341\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/psalmshymnsspiritualsongskjv.jpg 341w, https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/psalmshymnsspiritualsongskjv-300x175.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 341px) 100vw, 341px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\">You are not a god created by human hands<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080;\">You are not a god dependent on immortal man<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080;\">You are not a god in need of anything we can give<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080;\">By Your plan, that\u2019s just the way it is<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><em>You are God alone<\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080;\"><em>From before time began<\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080;\"><em>You were on Your throne<\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080;\"><em>You are God alone<\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080;\"><em>And right now in the good times and bad<\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080;\"><em>You are on Your throne<\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080;\"><em>You are God alone<\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080;\"><em>You are God alone<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\">You\u2019re unchangable<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080;\">You\u2019re unshakeable<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080;\">You\u2019re unstoppable<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080;\">That\u2019s what You are<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\">You\u2019re the only God whose power none can contend<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080;\">You\u2019re the only God whose name and praise will never end<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080;\">You\u2019re the only God who is worthy of everything we can give<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080;\">You are God and that\u2019s just the way it is<\/span><\/p>\n<p><center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/YkeF9nqwA-4?rel=0\" width=\"420\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/center><center><\/center><center>Billy and Cindy Foote<\/center><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\">* \u00a0~ \u00a0\u2665 \u00a0~ \u00a0\u271e \u00a0~ \u00a0\u2665 \u00a0~ \u00a0*<\/span><\/p>\n<p>I was drawn to the Book of Esther the other day and, as I was reading, I was struck again by the fact that there is not even one single word throughout all ten chapters of the Book of Esther which is attributed to God, or His dealings with Esther, the King, or Uncle Mordecai. \u00a0No directive, no command, no blessing\u2026no actual interaction with the Almighty God that is recorded. \u00a0However, we clearly can see His hand of blessing, His hand of direction, His guidance and His provision\u2014His <em>providence<\/em>. \u00a0\u00a0I was reminded again\u2026truly, \u00a0humbled again\u2026to recognize God\u2019s providential hand of blessing that is so evident throughout the Book of Esther.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>Providence\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/em>is defined by Webster\u2019s Dictionary as \u201cforesight; timely care; particularly, active foresight, or foresight accompanied with the procurement of what is necessary for future use, or with suitable preparation. In theology, the care and superintendence which God exercises over His creatures.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Bible Dictionary says this about <em>providence<\/em>, \u00a0\u201cWhen applied to God the idea takes on a vastly larger dimension because God not only looks ahead and attempts to make provision for His goals, but infallibly accomplishes what He sets out to do. \u00a0And because it is God\u2019s governance that is in view, it encompasses everything in the universe, from the creation of the world to its consummation, inclusive of every aspect of human existence and destiny. \u00a0This divine, sovereign, and benevolent control of all things by God is the underlying premise of everything that is taught in the Scriptures.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>And the Scriptures contain oh-so-very-many examples of His divine <em>providence<\/em>\u2026here are just a few.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Baby Moses, being hidden in a basket in the river; found by Pharoah\u2019s daughter and adopted into Pharoah\u2019s family.<\/li>\n<li>Daniel a Jewish slave in Babylon becoming Nebuchadnezzar\u2019s advisor.<\/li>\n<li>Joseph, envied by his brothers, sold by them into slavery in Egypt and becoming second in power after Pharoah.<\/li>\n<li>Jonah\u2019s refusal to obey, his consequences and, through them, the Ninevites choosing to repent.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Throughout the Scriptures, we are reminded of God\u2019s desire to have His people (us!) recognize His perfect care and love as evidenced by His providence.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Earnestly remember the former things, which I did of old;<br \/>\nfor I am God, and there is no one else;<br \/>\nI am God, and there is none like Me,<br \/>\nDeclaring the end and the result from the beginning,<br \/>\nand from ancient times the things that are not yet done,\u00a0saying,<br \/>\nMy counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure and purpose\u2026<br \/>\nIsaiah 46:9 and 10<\/p>\n<p>The world calls this <em>coincidence\u2026happenstance\u2026serendipity\u2026fate<\/em>. \u00a0We call it the <em><strong>providence<\/strong> <\/em>of God\u2014His AWEsome watching over, His perfect care, His provision (both immediate and in the future).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">When I applied my mind to know wisdom<br \/>\nand to see the business activity<br \/>\nand the painful effort that take place upon the earth<br \/>\n\u2014how neither day nor night some men\u2019s eyes sleep\u2014<br \/>\nThen I saw all the work of God,<br \/>\nthat man cannot find out the work that is done under the sun<br \/>\n\u2014because however much a man may toil in seeking,<br \/>\nyet he will not find it out; yes, more than that,<br \/>\nthough a wise man thinks and claims he knows, yet will he not be able to find it out.<br \/>\nEcclesiastes 8:16 and 17<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Your eyes saw my unformed substance;<br \/>\nin Your book were written, every one of them,<br \/>\nthe days that were formed for me,<br \/>\nwhen as yet there was none of them.<br \/>\nHow precious to me are Your thoughts, O God!<br \/>\nPsalms 139:16 and 17<\/p>\n<p>Our great God has all of eternity in mind and planned for us. \u00a0His sovereign plan (which includes all the faithful who have come before us) will come to pass for one reason alone\u2014He is God, and<span style=\"color: #800080;\"> <em>that\u2019s just the way it is!<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">And all of these, though they won divine approval<br \/>\nby [means of] their faith,<br \/>\ndid not receive the fulfillment of what was promised,<br \/>\nBecause God had us in mind<br \/>\nand had something better and greater in view for us,<br \/>\nso that they [these heroes and heroines of faith]<br \/>\nshould not come to perfection<br \/>\napart from us [before we could join them].<br \/>\nHebrews 11:39 and 40<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u2026making known to us the mystery of His will,<br \/>\naccording to His purpose, which He set forth in Christ<br \/>\nas a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in Him,<br \/>\nthings in heaven and things on earth.<br \/>\nIn Him we have obtained an inheritance,<br \/>\nhaving been predestined according to the purpose of Him<br \/>\nWho works all things according to the counsel of His will,<br \/>\nso that we who were the first to hope in Christ<br \/>\nmight be to the praise of His glory.<br \/>\nIn Him you also, when you heard the Word of truth,<br \/>\nthe gospel of your salvation, and believed in Him,<br \/>\nwere sealed with the promised Holy Spirit\u2026.<br \/>\nEphesians 1:9-13<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\">* \u00a0~ \u00a0\u2665 \u00a0~ \u00a0\u271e \u00a0~ \u00a0\u2665 \u00a0~ \u00a0*<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">What other examples of God\u2019s <em>providence\u00a0<\/em>do you remember from the Scriptures?
