For we are God\u2019s workmanship
\ncreated in Christ Jesus to do good works, <\/span>
\nwhich God prepared in advance for us to do. <\/span>
\nEphesians 2:10<\/span><\/p>\n

What is my purpose<\/strong><\/span>? \u00a0This is a question that everyone has to answer. \u00a0People struggle with answering this question…people die trying to answer this question…people search their whole lifetime trying to answer this question. \u00a0Some of us start asking this question at a very young age; some have just always known.<\/p>\n

I have never been one of the latter. \u00a0How lovely it would be to know what you want to do with your life from a young age. \u00a0I am one of those people who, well into my late twenties, am still trying to figure out my purpose.<\/p>\n

I can\u2019t say for sure what the big picture is, but I can say that focusing on the end game has caused me to miss out on a significant amount of present time. \u00a0I believe that yes, a goal should be in mind; but when you don\u2019t know what the future holds (which is often), you should do what you know to do right now. \u00a0Doing nothing is a waste of time.<\/p>\n

For instance, I have had quite a few jobs in my working career and just about each one I have treated as a means to an end. \u00a0I do my job and I do it well. \u00a0I excel in the actual performance but my attitude has not always been the best. \u00a0Instead of going in with the mindset that this job is what is paying my bills now, I go in with the mindset that this is not what I want to do for the rest of my life, so it\u2019s not important. \u00a0Have you ever tried to do a job that you didn\u2019t think was important? \u00a0Coupled with the fact that I\u2019ve always had the mindset that there are always more jobs\u2026disaster is what occurs. \u00a0And I\u2019m not a bad employee. \u00a0It is just the way that I approach the job that is the problem. \u00a0I feel that \u2018If this were my purpose<\/span>, then I would be happy doing it.\u201d \u00a0Ha! Being content is something that is cultivated, it doesn\u2019t just happen because the circumstances are good.<\/p>\n

So, your<\/span> purpose<\/span>? Well, your purpose<\/span> can be in the moment. Your purpose<\/span> doesn\u2019t define your worth. Your worth is always found in God himself. Your purpose<\/span> is simply the role(s) you are in at any given moment. Your attitude during any season determines whether you see you in your purpose<\/span>. Purpose<\/span> isn\u2019t just a one-time ultimate goal. It shifts. God has \u201cgood works\u201d for us. Not just one single work \/purpose<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Make sure that you are mindful of your current purpose<\/span>…and not blinded by your end game goal.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
