Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, <\/span>
\nset your sights on the realities of heaven, <\/span>
\nwhere Christ sits in the place of honor at God\u2019s right hand.<\/span>
\nThink about the things of heaven, not the things of earth.<\/span>
\nFor you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God. <\/span>
\nColossians 3:1-3<\/span><\/p>\n

*\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0~ \u00a0 \u2665 \u00a0 ~\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u271e\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0~ \u00a0\u2665 \u00a0 ~ \u00a0 *<\/span><\/p>\n

This week, here on the Seeking Him<\/em> devotional blog, our sisters have reminded us again and again of these truths. \u00a0Here are a few highlights from the devotionals that Tina, Cynda,\u00a0and Ahmee wrote earlier this week.<\/p>\n

*\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0~ \u00a0 \u2665 \u00a0 ~\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u271e\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0~ \u00a0\u2665 \u00a0 ~ \u00a0 *<\/span><\/p>\n

In W<\/em>hy<\/em>?, Cynda<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0shared a couple of questions…<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

“If we have died and our life is hidden with Christ then<\/p>\n

Why<\/strong> <\/em>do I need to keep seeking Him?
\nHow long<\/em><\/strong> must I continue to seek Him?<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The second question was a little easier to answer than the first.<\/p>\n

Hosea 10:12 (HCSB) says:\u00a0It is time to seek the Lord <\/span>until He comes\u00a0<\/em>and sends righteousness on you like the rain.
\n<\/span>1 Chronicles 16:11 (NKJV) tells us:\u00a0Seek the Lord and His strength; Seek His face evermore<\/em>!
\nPsalm 105:4 (HCSB) states:\u00a0Search for the Lord and for His strength; seek His face always<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\n

But WHY<\/span>?<\/em><\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Scripture tells us:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. \u00a02 Chronicles 7:14 NKJV<\/li>\n
  • As long as he sought the Lord, God prospered him. \u00a02 Chronicles 26:5 NASB<\/li>\n
  • \u2026that we might humble ourselves before our God to seek from Him a straight and right way\u2026 \u00a0Ezra 8:21 AMP<\/li>\n
  • Let all who seek God\u2019s help be encouraged. \u00a0Psalm 69:32 NLT<\/li>\n
  • Seek Me that you may live\u2026 \u00a0Amos 5:4 NASB<\/li>\n
  • Seek the Lord that you may live\u2026 \u00a0Amos 5:6 NASB<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    I don\u2019t know about you but, for me,
    \nthat is reason enough to continually seek Christ!<\/h4>\n

    \u2766<\/span><\/h2>\n

    In Taking Our Thoughts Captive<\/em>, Tina<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0issued a challenge…<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

    We look at what others have and say: \u201cWhy can\u2019t I have that?\u201d \u00a0\u201cWhy do they get to go on those great trips all the time?\u201d \u201cI want a car like that!\u201d God knows what we desire. \u00a0He hears, He sees, and He wants to bless us. \u00a0But where the correct thinking should be is where are we storing up our treasures? \u00a0These things we desire will corrode, tarnish, wear out, or we will forget them.<\/p>\n

    This week, ask God to show y<\/strong>ou how you can honor Him<\/em>. \u00a0Listen and watch for those moments where you and God will be lifted up and you will be amazed at the blessings you may have been missing. \u00a0Today, find your quiet time and reflect on the words in the verses above. \u00a0Ask God where you can make changes in your thoughts and actions to glorify Him.<\/p>\n

    \u2766<\/span><\/h2>\n

    In In The Middle: It’s Called\u00a0Balance<\/em>, Ahmee<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0shared an excellent perspective…<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

    “Verse 1 of this passage tells us to ‘\u2026set our sights on the realities of heaven\u2026’. \u00a0I agree with this statement (it is in the Bible, after all, and it is not wise to argue with the Bible). \u00a0However, I also believe in balance. \u00a0Although the reality of heaven is very real, we are not to be blind to that which is going on around us. \u00a0If we did this, a countless number of souls would be lost because everyone would be solely concerned with the afterlife.<\/p>\n

    I believe what this verse is saying is that we need to live our lives with heaven in mind; but not to ignore our earthly life now and live in a dream world.<\/p>\n

    Colossians 3:3 says, \u201c\u2026your real life is hidden with Christ in God.\u201d \u00a0Let us live for our God. \u00a0Let us point people towards Him. Let us remind each other and comfort each other discerningly with the very real reality of heaven.”<\/p>\n

    \n

    Be productive for God\u2026always point people to the Father.
    \nAnd remember that heaven isn\u2019t all that far away.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
