Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ,
\nKeep seeking the things above,
\nWhere Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.
\nSet your mind on the things above,
\nNot on the things that are on earth.
\nFor you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
\nColossians 3:1-3<\/p>\n

In the Bible, we are repeatedly instructed to seek the Kingdom of God, to seek Christ, and to seek His face. \u00a0As I was reading the above passage a couple of questions came to mind.<\/p>\n

If we have died and our life is hidden with Christ then<\/p>\n

Why<\/strong> <\/em><\/span>do I need to keep seeking Him?
\nHow long<\/em><\/strong><\/span> must I continue to seek Him?<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The second question was a little easier to answer than the first. \u00a0Hosea 10:12 (HCSB) says:<\/p>\n

It is time to seek the Lord until He comes<\/em>
\nand sends righteousness on you like the rain.<\/p>\n

1 Chronicles 16:11 (NKJV) tells us:<\/p>\n

Seek the Lord and His strength; Seek His face evermore<\/em>!<\/p>\n

And Psalm 105:4 (HCSB) states:<\/p>\n

Search for the Lord and for His strength; seek His face always<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Seeking God must be extremely important if we are to do it \u2018until He comes\u2019, \u2018evermore\u2019, and \u2018always\u2019. \u00a0To seek<\/span><\/strong> is to aspire to, desire, or be passionate about something<\/em>. \u00a0We are to aspire to be like Christ and be passionate in doing so. \u00a0Psalm 63:1 says we are to earnestly and eagerly seek God, to thirst and long for Him.<\/p>\n

\n

But WHY?<\/em><\/span><\/h3>\n

Scripture tells us:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. \u00a02 Chronicles 7:14 NKJV<\/li>\n
  • As long as he sought the Lord, God prospered him. \u00a02 Chronicles 26:5 NASB<\/li>\n
  • …that we might humble ourselves before our God to seek from Him a straight and right way… \u00a0Ezra 8:21 AMP<\/li>\n
  • Let all who seek God\u2019s help be encouraged. \u00a0Psalm 69:32 NLT<\/li>\n
  • Seek Me that you may live… \u00a0Amos 5:4 NASB<\/li>\n
  • Seek the Lord that you may live… \u00a0Amos 5:6 NASB<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n

    Matthew 6:33 and Luke 12:31(NKJV) states that those who \u201cseek first<\/em> the Kingdom of God and His righteousness,\u2026ALL these things shall be added to you.\u201d \u00a0And\u00a0Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV) reminds us that \u201cHe is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n

    I don\u2019t know about you but, for me,
    \nthat is reason enough to continually seek Christ!<\/h4>\n

    Father, thank You for repeatedly reminding us to seek You. \u00a0I don\u2019t want to miss out on any of the blessings You have stored up for me simply because I chose not to seek You. \u00a0While I don\u2019t always understand, I choose to put my trust in You alone. \u00a0You are in control and You see the bigger picture. \u00a0Only You can lead me on the right path. \u00a0Thank You for being patient with me. \u00a0In Your Holy Name I pray, Amen \u2013 It is so!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
