Many of you have gone on Spring Break or are anticipating taking a vacation this summer. \u00a0It is a time to refresh spirit, soul, and body. \u00a0Over the next couple of weeks, our faithful bloggers will be taking a \u2018spring break\u2019 from writing so that they can come back to us refreshed and freshly anointed. <\/span>
\nHowever, Girlfriends\u2019 Coffee Hour website won\u2019t \u2018go black\u2019! \u00a0We will be revisiting some of our favorite blogs and daily devotions which have blessed us in the past. \u00a0We pray that each of you, our faithful friends and readers, will continue to start your day meditating on the devotionals and songblogs, and be encouraged and blessed.<\/span><\/p>\n

Let\u2019s give each of our bloggers a big round of applause,<\/span>

\nthe command of the LORD is radiant, making the eyes light up.<\/span>
\nThe fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever;<\/span>
\nthe ordinances of the LORD are reliable and altogether righteous.<\/span>
\nThey are more desirable than gold\u2014than an abundance of pure gold;<\/span>
\nand sweeter than honey, which comes from the honeycomb.<\/span>

Learning<\/strong>: the activity or process of gaining knowledge or skill by studying, practicing, being taught, or experiencing something;\u00a0the activity of someone who learns;\u00a0knowledge or skill gained from learning.<\/p>\n

Instruction<\/strong>: a statement that describes how to do something : an order or command : the action or process of teaching : the act of instructing someone.<\/p>\n

From the moment we are born we are learning<\/em><\/strong>. \u00a0We learn to breathe, we learn how to tell others we are wet, that we are hungry, that we are lonely, and that we are afraid. \u00a0We learn to be selfish. \u00a0We learn that crying brings someone to care for us. \u00a0We learn that we can engage people by smiling and cooing. \u00a0We learn we can \u2018eat\u2019\u00a0 our toes, our fingers, and we then we discover we can move by learning to crawl, and then walk.<\/p>\n

Then, while we are still learning, instruction<\/em> <\/strong>begins. \u00a0We begin to observe how things are done, how things work. \u00a0Things like putting a block into the correct shape. \u00a0 We are instructed as to how to put on a shirt, a pair of pants, how to comb our hair, how to brush our teeth. \u00a0Some\u00a0go to daycare or have playdates, and here we learn to play nice with others, and not to hit or bite. \u00a0We learn to be kind and to have compassion. \u00a0We have learned at this point whom we should fear; whether it is a little person or a grown-up, we learn who we should stay far away from.<\/p>\n

While in school we learn the ordinances (rules). \u00a0We learn what we can do, what is acceptable behaviour and what is not. \u00a0This is a precept. \u00a0We must become teachable and willing to learn.<\/p>\n

I obey Your precept<\/b>s<\/strong> and Your statutes, for all my ways are known to You.<\/div>\n
Psalm 119:168<\/div>\n

We may not learn about the Bible until later, or totally understand, but our heavenly Father gave us His precepts\u2014His rules, His laws\u2014on how we should live. \u00a0It does not matter when we begin to learn these, as long as we begin practicing them. \u00a0He wants us to enjoy the life He has planned for us. \u00a0We just have to be willing to trust Him.<\/p>\n

Father, thank You for loving us. \u00a0I ask for my heart to become humble and teachable. \u00a0I am not too old or too young to follow Your ways, to understand Your precepts. \u00a0I want to have such a fire about me which will cause those around me to have a fire, a desire to know You. \u00a0I want to learn. \u00a0I want to be taught. \u00a0I desire You, Father. \u00a0Thank You for Your Word and for this ministry. \u00a0Let us not grow weary in knowing You more intimately. \u00a0In Jesus\u2019 name I pray and ask these things, amen.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
