Recorded in the Gospel of John, our Lord made seven statements referring to Himself as I AM<\/em><\/strong>\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

I AM<\/strong> The Light of the World
\nI AM<\/strong> The Bread of Life
\nI AM<\/strong> The Door <\/em><\/span>
\nI AM<\/strong> The Good Shepherd
\nI AM<\/strong> The True Vine <\/em><\/span>
\nI AM<\/strong> The Way, The Truth, and The Life<\/em><\/span>
\nI AM<\/strong> The Resurrection and The Life<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Each week during this season of Lent, here on the Seeking Him<\/em> blog, we will be focusing our devotionals on a different aspect of Jesus\u2019 revelation of Himself as I AM<\/em><\/strong>.<\/span>\u00a0 The aim of Lent should be to prepare our hearts for the remembrance of Jesus\u2019 sacrifice\u2014His trial and torture, the Crucifixion and His death\u2026and above all, the celebration of His Resurrection from the dead. \u00a0We pray that this will be a great encouragement to each of you who read them. \u00a0And that all of us will consider the significance of Jesus\u2019 words and, through them, be helped as we remember and are thankful for all Jesus went through during the last few weeks of His life on this earth.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

*\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0~ \u00a0 \u2665 \u00a0 ~\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u271e\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0~ \u00a0\u2665 \u00a0 ~ \u00a0 *<\/span><\/p>\n

“Lord,\u201d Martha said to Jesus, \u201cif You had been here, my brother would not have died.<\/span>
\nBut I know that even now God will give You whatever you ask.\u201d<\/span>
\nJesus said to her, \u201cYour brother will rise again.\u201d<\/span>
\nMartha answered, \u201cI know he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.\u201d<\/span>
\nJesus said to her, \u201cI AM the Resurrection and the Life.
\nThe one who believes in Me will live, even though they die;<\/span>
\nand whoever lives by believing in Me will never die. Do you believe this?\u201d<\/span>
\n\u201cYes, Lord,\u201d she replied, \u201cI believe that You are the Messiah, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.\u201d
\nJohn 11:21-27<\/span><\/p>\n

Raising Lazarus from the dead was one of Jesus\u2019s miracles while He was here on Earth. \u00a0Jesus brought him back from the dead and healed many others during His time on Earth. \u00a0It was also like a foretelling of Jesus’ own Resurrection. \u00a0Jesus defeated death to save Lazarus. \u00a0He would go on to defeat death again to save us all.<\/p>\n

Martha believed that since Lazarus had died she would not see him again until he was resurrected at the end of time. \u00a0She believed that Jesus was the One sent to save all of us from our sins. \u00a0She believed in Him. \u00a0She did not falter in her belief when Jesus asked her if she believed He was Resurrection and the Life.<\/p>\n

When the last day comes, will you be able to answer \u201cYes, Lord…I believe<\/strong>.\u201d like Martha did? \u00a0Can you answer \u2018Yes<\/strong><\/em>\u201d today? \u00a0For those who believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Savior, they will not die. \u00a0When Judgment Day arrives, Jesus will answer for the believers, and they will live for all eternity. \u00a0The debt for sin has been paid, and the believer will never die.<\/p>\n

*\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0~ \u00a0 \u2665 \u00a0 ~\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u271e\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0~ \u00a0\u2665 \u00a0 ~ \u00a0 * <\/span><\/p>\n

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the sacrifice that Your one and only Son made for us. \u00a0If it were not for His love, we would be confined to death for the consequence of sin. \u00a0May those who do not know Him come to Him. \u00a0May those who already know grow stronger in their relationship with the Messiah. \u00a0In Jesus name, Amen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
