Many of you have gone on Spring Break or are anticipating taking a vacation this summer. \u00a0It is a time to refresh spirit, soul, and body. \u00a0Over the next couple of weeks, our faithful bloggers will be taking a \u2018spring break\u2019 from writing so that they can come back to us refreshed and freshly anointed. <\/span>
\nHowever, Girlfriends\u2019 Coffee Hour website won\u2019t \u2018go black\u2019! \u00a0We will be revisiting some of our favorite blogs and daily devotions which have blessed us in the past. \u00a0We pray that each of you, our faithful friends and readers, will continue to start your day meditating on the devotionals and songblogs, and be encouraged and blessed.<\/span><\/p>\n

When I read verses like this, I always wonder why the writer felt the need to tell God to remember<\/strong>. \u00a0If God said, \u201cCome to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest…\u201d then it\u2019s safe to say that you should come to Him\u2026and He will give you rest. \u00a0No reminder needed.<\/em><\/p>\n

There is a certain level of uncertainty when it comes to God. \u00a0For example, two people can pray for healing; and yet one will live and one will die. \u00a0Why? \u00a0Only God knows. Surely, there is some type of order to the happenings of life. \u00a0After all, 1 Corinthians 14:33 says, \u201c\u2026For God is not a God of disorder but of peace.\u201d \u00a0Even with this being the case we don\u2019t get to see the Big Picture all the time.<\/p>\n

Perspective plays a huge role in our relationship with God. \u00a0He sees things we simply do not see and can not see. \u00a0We often have to ask Him to open our eyes to see what He sees. \u00a0And sometimes He sheds light on a situation. \u00a0But sometimes, we are told to wait.<\/p>\n

Have you ever felt betrayed by God? \u00a0You went to Him for guidance, followed His directions to the best of your ability, and still got what seemed to be an unfavorable outcome? \u00a0I have. \u00a0And when I find myself in these situations I often take to reminding<\/em> God of His promises.<\/p>\n

Reminding<\/em> God of His promises is beneficial to us, not to Him. Reminding<\/em> God about His promises, reminds us<\/strong>\u00a0<\/em>of God\u2019s Word and can bring up some very important issues:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Do I really believe this promise?<\/li>\n
  • Do I trust God to fulfill this promise?<\/li>\n
  • Is there something in my life that I need to address or hand over to God?<\/li>\n
  • Is something hindering God\u2019s progress in this situation?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    I feel this is a very vital role in growing with God. \u00a0I have friends who can read the Bible and take God at His Word easily. \u00a0When they read that God will provide for them\u2026they believe that God will provide for them. \u00a0When I read that God will provide for me\u2026I ask questions. \u00a0I need to know to know how<\/em> and when<\/em>. \u00a0If I can\u2019t come up with a solution in my mind, then it must be impossible. \u00a0I need details. \u00a0I have gotten better at simply taking God at His Word, but I often have to fight the urge to remind<\/em> Him of the way things are \u201csupposed\u201d to be.<\/p>\n

    The Message Translation says,<\/p>\n

    \n

    Trust GOD from the bottom of your heart;
    \nDon\u2019t try to figure out everything on your own.
    \nListen for GOD\u2019s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go;
    \nHe\u2019s the one who will keep you on track.
    \nProverbs 3:5 and 6<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

    Lord, I pray that I never forget Your promises and that I never stop coming to You when I have questions or concerns. \u00a0Thank You for being faithful and answering my prayers. \u00a0Thank You for giving me knowledge and understanding. \u00a0Help me to doubt less, trust more, and follow relentlessly. \u00a0Give me the courage to stand for You, and humility to obey You. \u00a0In Jesus\u2019 name I pray. \u00a0Amen.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
