Recorded in the Gospel of John, our Lord made seven statements referring to Himself as I AM<\/em><\/strong>\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

I AM<\/strong> The Light of the World
\nI AM<\/strong> The Bread of Life
\nI AM<\/strong> The Door <\/em><\/span>
\nI AM<\/strong> The Good Shepherd
\nI AM<\/strong> The True Vine <\/em><\/span>
\nI AM<\/strong> The Way, The Truth, and The Life<\/em><\/span>
\nI AM<\/strong> The Resurrection and The Life<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Each week during this season of Lent, here on the Seeking Him<\/em> blog, we will be focusing our devotionals on a different aspect of Jesus\u2019 revelation of Himself as I AM<\/em><\/strong><\/span>.\u00a0 The aim of Lent should be to prepare our hearts for the remembrance of Jesus\u2019 sacrifice\u2014His trial and torture, the Crucifixion and His death\u2026and above all, the celebration of His Resurrection from the dead. \u00a0We pray that this will be a great encouragement to each of you who read them. \u00a0And that all of us will consider the significance of Jesus\u2019 words and, through them, be helped as we remember and are thankful for all Jesus went through during the last few weeks of His life on this earth.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

*\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0~ \u00a0 \u2665 \u00a0 ~\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u271e\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0~ \u00a0\u2665 \u00a0 ~ \u00a0 *<\/span><\/p>\n

Jesus said to him, I AM<\/strong> the Way<\/em> and the Truth<\/em> and the Life<\/em>;
\nno one comes to the Father except by (through) Me.<\/span>
\nJohn 14:6 AMP<\/span><\/p>\n

In this verse, Jesus makes a very bold statement\u2014one that forces us to make a decision. \u00a0It is an all-or-nothing deal. \u00a0There is simply no middle ground. Either Jesus is the only<\/strong>\u00a0Way<\/span><\/em> to the Father or Jesus is not telling the truth. \u00a0(That was so hard for me to type!)<\/p>\n

Consider the following verses:<\/p>\n

Jesus said to her, \u201cI AM<\/strong> the Resurrection and the Life.
\nThe one who believes in Me, even if he dies, will live.
\nEveryone who lives and believes in Me will never die\u2014ever.
\nDo you believe this?\u201d
\nJohn 11:25-26 HCSB<\/p>\n

\u201cDo you believe<\/span> this?<\/em><\/strong>\u201d \u00a0That is the crux of the matter. \u00a0Those four words sum it up in a nutshell. \u00a0 What do you believe<\/span>?<\/p>\n

I believe<\/span> that God revealed Himself in Jesus. \u00a0I believe<\/span> that Jesus is the perfect human revelation of God. \u00a0I believe<\/span> that without Christ on the Cross, we would only be able to come before God as our Judge and not as our Father. \u00a0I had never considered that Jesus wasn\u2019t telling the truth. \u00a0As I pondered that question, I went looking for Scripture that supports what I believe. \u00a0Here is what I found:<\/p>\n

For in Him the whole fullness of Deity (the Godhead)
\ncontinues to dwell in bodily form
\n[giving complete expression of the divine nature].
\nColossians 2:9 AMP<\/p>\n

Inasmuch then as we have a great High Priest
\nWho has [already] ascended and passed through the heavens,
\nJesus the Son of God,
\nlet us hold fast our confession [of faith in Him].
\nHebrews 4:14 AMP<\/p>\n

He went once for all into the [Holy of] Holies [of heaven],
\nnot by virtue of the blood of goats and calves
\n[by which to make reconciliation between God and man],
\nbut His own blood, having found and secured a complete redemption
\n(an everlasting release for us).
\nHebrews 9:12 AMP<\/p>\n

But our High Priest offered himself to God as a single sacrifice for sins,
\ngood for all time.
\nThen He sat down in the place of honor at God\u2019s right hand.
\nHebrews 10:12 NLT<\/p>\n

God in bodily form. \u00a0Doesn\u2019t that just blow your mind? \u00a0Jesus is our High Priest, a willing sacrifice as an atonement for all our sins. \u00a0Jesus secured eternal redemption for us. \u00a0All we need to do is believe<\/span> that He is who He says He is\u2014the only Way<\/span><\/strong> to the Cross, the Truth<\/span><\/strong> of the Word in an earthly body and the Giver of eternal Life<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

As John 8:32 (AMP) states:<\/p>\n

And you will know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free.<\/h4>\n

We know the Truth<\/strong> <\/span>when we have a relationship with Jesus and believe<\/span> solely in Him…that is what sets us free. \u00a0Truly free. \u00a0That\u2019s what I want—to be free indeed!<\/p>\n

*\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0~ \u00a0 \u2665 \u00a0 ~\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u271e\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0~ \u00a0\u2665 \u00a0 ~ \u00a0 * <\/span><\/p>\n

Father, thank You for sending a perfect representation of You in bodily form. \u00a0Thank You for providing Your Only Son as the only<\/strong>\u00a0Way<\/span> <\/strong>for us to have eternal Life. \u00a0I truly desire to be free. \u00a0Only Jesus can set me free. \u00a0I firmly believe<\/span> He is\u00a0The Way, The Truth<\/span><\/strong> and<\/span> The Life<\/span><\/strong> and the only\u00a0Way<\/span> <\/strong>I can call You ‘Abba’ is through Him. \u00a0In His Holy name I pray, Amen \u2013 It is so!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
