Jesus was fully aware of the kind of sacrifice that was required to redeem mankind. \u00a0In His last moments of freedom, while praying in the Garden at Gethsemene, He agonized over what He knew was to come. \u00a0And yet, He did it. For us\u2026with <strong>deep, <em>deep<\/em><\/strong> love!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.<br \/>\nFor one will hardly die for a righteous man; though perhaps<br \/>\nfor a good man someone would dare even to die.<br \/>\nBut God demonstrates His own love toward us,<br \/>\nin that\u00a0while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.<br \/>\nMuch more then, having now been justified by His blood,<br \/>\nwe shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him.<br \/>\nFor if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God<br \/>\nthrough the death of His Son,\u00a0much more,<br \/>\nhaving been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.<br \/>\nRomans 5:6-10<\/p>\n<p>And so <strong><em>deep<\/em><\/strong> is this love of Jesus for us that it requires being born-again&#8212;to have Christ living in us&#8212;to even be able to comprehend this<strong> deep, <em>deep<\/em><\/strong> love!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u2026that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend<br \/>\nwith all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth,<br \/>\nand to know the love of Christ\u2026<br \/>\nEphesians 3:17-19<\/p>\n<p>But, by God\u2019s grace and through the indwelling of His Holy Spirit, we are given some insight into this love. \u00a0And to begin to know this love. \u00a0\u00a0To fully comprehend this kind of love I truly believe it will take having the new minds and new bodies which are promised to us when He returns. \u00a0Perhaps it is just too much for us to completely understand His<strong> deep, <em>deep<\/em><\/strong> love at this point.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life,<br \/>\nnor angels, nor principalities, nor powers,<br \/>\nnor things present, nor things to come,<br \/>\nnor height, nor depth, nor any other creature,<br \/>\nshall be able to separate us from the love of God,<br \/>\nwhich is in Christ Jesus our Lord.<br \/>\nRomans 8:38 and 39<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you\u2026\u201d (John 15:12). \u00a0These were Jesus\u2019 words to His closest friends during the last meal He would share with them. \u00a0He knew the time was imminent and that the time was at hand when He would show His <strong>deep, <em>deep<\/em><\/strong> love. \u00a0He gave clear command to them (and to us\u2014we are to do the same).<\/p>\n<p>And so, what does that mean to you (me, too) today?
