I looked at <strong><em>dictionary.com<\/em> <\/strong>and found these definitions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201c<em>Set<\/em>\u201d is to place in some relation to something or someone<\/li>\n<li>To be \u201c<em><span style=\"color: #800080;\">set apar<\/span>t<\/em>\u201d is defined: to reserve for a particular purpose, or to cause to be noticed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>As Christians, we are set into relationship with Jesus Christ through His sacrifice. He has called us to be holy as He is holy (Leviticus 11:44, 1 Peter 1:15-16).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">For God has not called us for impurity, but in holiness.<br \/>\n1 Thessalonians 4:7 ESV<\/p>\n<p>That is, to be dedicated to God and not to the things of this world. \u00a0If we are \u201c<span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>set apart<\/strong><\/span> for the One we love,\u201d we are reserved for a particular purpose. \u00a0That purpose is to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">worship and serve Him<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">And so, dear brothers and sisters,<br \/>\nI plead with you to give your bodies to God<br \/>\nbecause of all He has done for you.<br \/>\nLet them be a living and holy sacrifice\u2014the kind He will find acceptable.<br \/>\nThis is truly the way to worship Him.<br \/>\nDon\u2019t copy the behavior and customs of this world,<br \/>\nbut let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.<br \/>\nThen you will learn to know God\u2019s will for you,<br \/>\nwhich is good and pleasing and perfect.<br \/>\nRomans 12:1-2<\/p>\n<p>When we are <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>set apart<\/strong><\/span> for God, we will be noticed because our lifestyle looks different. \u00a0We think differently, talk differently, and act differently than those around us who don\u2019t have that relationship. \u00a0We make God our first love, focusing on our relationship with Him, allowing Him to refine us, and in our lives making Him known to others.<\/p>\n<p>As I listen to this song, I\u2019m singing and praying these words. \u00a0As we are coming into the Easter season, I think many of us are searching our own hearts. \u00a0God is holy. \u00a0We, as His children, are <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>set apart<\/strong><\/span> for His glory. \u00a0But we are human, and we fail in our own efforts to be worthy of that place in His family. \u00a0Sometimes in the crazy busyness of this life we forget our first love (much as the church of Ephesus did, read <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=revelation%202%3A1-7&amp;version=ESV;NIV;NASB;AMP\" target=\"_blank\">Revelation 2:1-7<\/a>.) \u00a0The exciting thing about being one of God\u2019s children, is that when we repent, and come back to our first love, God is waiting \u201cto be found\u201d so He can refine our hearts.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins<br \/>\nand to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.<br \/>\n1 John 1:9<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">You can be sure of this: The LORD set apart the godly for Himself.<br \/>\nThe LORD will answer when I call to Him.<br \/>\nPsalm 4:3<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">For you are a people holy to the Lord your God. The Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for His treasured possession, out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth.<br \/>\nIt was not because you were more in number than any other people that the Lord set His love on you and chose you, for you were the fewest of all peoples,<br \/>\nbut it is because the Lord loves you and is keeping the oath that He swore to your fathers, that the Lord has brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you from the house of slavery, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.<br \/>\nKnow therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love Him and keep His commandments, to a thousand generations&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Deuteronomy 7:6-9<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>These verses thrill me because we are a part of \u201c&#8230;to a thousand generations.\u201d \u00a0God loves us so much that through the ultimate sacrifice of His Son, Jesus, He <strong><span style=\"color: #800080;\">set us apart<\/span><\/strong> to be His holy people. \u00a0What amazing grace!
