Recorded in the Gospel of John, our Lord made seven statements referring to Himself as I AM<\/em><\/strong>\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

I AM<\/strong> The Light of the World
\nI AM<\/strong> The Bread of Life
\nI AM<\/strong> The Door <\/em><\/span>
\nI AM<\/strong> The Good Shepherd
\nI AM<\/strong> The True Vine <\/em><\/span>
\nI AM<\/strong> The Way, The Truth, and The Life<\/em><\/span>
\nI AM<\/strong> The Resurrection and The Life<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Each week during this season of Lent, here on the Seeking Him<\/em> blog, we will be focusing our devotionals on a different aspect of Jesus\u2019 revelation of Himself as I AM<\/em><\/strong><\/span>.\u00a0 The aim of Lent should be to prepare our hearts for the remembrance of Jesus\u2019 sacrifice\u2014His trial and torture, the Crucifixion and His death\u2026and above all, the celebration of His Resurrection from the dead. \u00a0We pray that this will be a great encouragement to each of you who read them. \u00a0And that all of us will consider the significance of Jesus\u2019 words and, through them, be helped as we remember and are thankful for all Jesus went through during the last few weeks of His life on this earth.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

I AM\u00a0<\/strong>the True Vine<\/em>, and My Father is the Vinedresser.
\n<\/span><\/span>Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away;
\nand every\u00a0branch that bears fruit,
\nHe prunes it so that it may bear more fruit.
\nY<\/span><\/span>ou are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.
\n<\/span><\/span>Abide in Me, and I in you.
\nAs the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine,
\nso neither\u00a0can you unless you abide in Me.
\n<\/span><\/span>I AM<\/strong> the Vine<\/em>, you are the branches;
\nhe who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit,
\nfor apart from Me you can do nothing.
\n<\/span><\/span>If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up;
\nand they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned.
\n<\/span><\/span>If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you,
\nask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
\n<\/span><\/span>My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit,
\nand so<\/i> prove to be My disciples.
\n<\/span><\/span>Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you;
\nabide in My love.
\n<\/span><\/span>If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love;
\njust as I have kept My Father\u2019s commandments and abide in His love.
\n<\/span><\/span>These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you,
\nand that your joy may be made full.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
