Jam"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Bacon-BOMB-Jam.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-25015\" src=\"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Bacon-BOMB-Jam-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Bacon BOMB Jam\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Bacon-BOMB-Jam-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Bacon-BOMB-Jam-1024x768.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>You read that correctly: <em><strong>\u00a0B.O.M.B. \u00a0<\/strong><\/em>This stuff will blow you away! \u00a0<strong>Bacon Onion Maple Bourbon <\/strong>Jam is an out of this world condiment you will want to smear on everything!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This is easy and amazing. \u00a0I ate some of this bacon jam on my baked salmon. \u00a0Next I&#8217;m going to try it on a cracker, maybe with a little goat cheese, or as part of an olive and cheese tray. \u00a0And I may just go off the rails and slather it on bread with cheddar and sliced apple and make the best grilled cheese sandwich I&#8217;ve ever had! \u00a0This recipe yields a cup and a half of jam. \u00a0Let&#8217;s see how long it lasts!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Bacon B.O.M.B. Jam<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Ingredients<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>3\/4 pound bacon (I used 7 slices), diced<\/li>\n<li>2 large onions (try sweet onions, if you have them), sliced<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 cup maple syrup<\/li>\n<li>1 tablespoon bourbon<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 cup coffee (or use water if you like)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Directions:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>In a heavy pot with a lid, cook the bacon over medium heat. \u00a0You want all the fat to render, but you don&#8217;t want the bacon to get really crisp. \u00a0Remove the bacon from the pan, and pour out all but one tablespoon of bacon fat. \u00a0(I keep mine in a jar in the refrigerator, and use it to pan fry.)<\/li>\n<li>Add the sliced onions to the bacon fat in the pan. \u00a0Cover and cook on medium low for 15 minutes. \u00a0Stir, making sure nothing is burning, and cook another 10 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Add the bacon, maple syrup, bourbon, and coffee; stir, making sure to scrape the bottom of the pan (use a wooden spoon). \u00a0Cover with the lid, cook another 10\u00a0minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Remove the lid and cook uncovered for 15 minutes. \u00a0I sort of mashed the jam with my wooden spoon to get a smoother consistency. \u00a0You can do that or you can leave it chunky. \u00a0You could even put it in a food processor and pulse a few times to get it even smoother. \u00a0Taste it and see how you like it.<\/li>\n<li>Refrigerate the leftovers and eat within a week.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Explore, experiment, enjoy!<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 Dana<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>To view even more of Dana\u2019s unique recipes, you can visit her at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/frugalgirlmet.blogspot.com\/\">Frugal Girlmet<\/a>!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>You read that correctly: \u00a0B.O.M.B. \u00a0This stuff will blow you away! \u00a0Bacon Onion Maple Bourbon Jam is an out of this world condiment you will want to smear on everything!
