Recorded in the Gospel of John, our Lord made seven statements referring to Himself as I AM<\/em><\/strong>\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

I AM<\/strong> The Light of the World
\nI AM<\/strong> The Bread of Life
\nI AM<\/strong> The Door <\/em><\/span>
\nI AM<\/strong> The Good Shepherd
\nI AM<\/strong> The True Vine <\/em><\/span>
\nI AM<\/strong> The Way, The Truth, and The Life<\/em><\/span>
\nI AM<\/strong> The Resurrection and The Life<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Each week during this season of Lent, here on the Seeking Him<\/em> blog, we will be focusing our devotionals on a different aspect of Jesus\u2019 revelation of Himself as I AM<\/em><\/strong><\/span>.\u00a0 The aim of Lent should be to prepare our hearts for the remembrance of Jesus\u2019 sacrifice\u2014His trial and torture, the Crucifixion and His death\u2026and above all, the celebration of His Resurrection from the dead. \u00a0We pray that this will be a great encouragement to each of you who read them. \u00a0And that all of us will consider the significance of Jesus\u2019 words and, through them, be helped as we remember and are thankful for all Jesus went through during the last few weeks of His life on this earth.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

*\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0~ \u00a0 \u2665 \u00a0 ~\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u271e\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0~ \u00a0\u2665 \u00a0 ~ \u00a0 *\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/sup>So Jesus said to them again,\u201cTruly, truly, I say to you,
\nI AM<\/em> the Door<\/strong> of the sheep.<\/span> <\/span>
\nAll who came before Me are thieves and robbers,
\nbut the sheep did not hear them.<\/span> <\/span>
\nI AM the Door<\/strong>; if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved,
\nand will go in and out and find pasture.<\/span> <\/span>
\nThe thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy;
\nI came that they may have life, and have it\u00a0abundantly.
\n<\/span><\/span>John 10:7-10<\/span><\/p>\n

For Lent this year, I gave up my tablet and the games on my phone. \u00a0I couldn\u2019t give up the phone because I do have to stay connected for emergencies, and we don\u2019t have a land-line phone. \u00a0I have found that I spend so much time playing on my tablet or phone that I have started neglecting various areas of my life. \u00a0I was neglecting my kids, my husband, and my time with God. \u00a0It was stealing my time. \u00a0I was letting the distractions become the thief in my life.<\/p>\n

When distractions become too much, they become the thief of our attention in major ways. \u00a0Distractions take us away from work, family, and (most important of all) God. \u00a0We wander away from what should keep us whole and grounded into a world of chaos and discontentment. We walk out of the open Door<\/span> back into what was keeping us from it in the first place when we let distractions overrun our lives.<\/p>\n

However, we can easily reenter that Door<\/span> <\/strong>when we accept Christ as our Lord and Savior. \u00a0Christ opened the door to redemption when He died on the Cross for our sins. \u00a0He reconciled us to God, so we may have eternal life. A s the children of God, we should pay attention to Jesus and being faithful to Him. \u00a0We should not listen to a world that has turned away from God. \u00a0If we turn away from God then we will die a certain death when Judgment Day arrives. \u00a0All we have to do is see Jesus\u2019 open Door<\/span><\/strong>, give up the worldly distractions, and accept Jesus as our Savior. \u00a0When we cross over the threshold of that Door<\/span><\/strong>, we are no longer of this world.<\/p>\n

*\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0~ \u00a0 \u2665 \u00a0 ~\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u271e\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0~ \u00a0\u2665 \u00a0 ~ \u00a0 *\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for opening the Door<\/span> <\/strong>for us to enter Your presence. \u00a0Jesus, Your wonderful sacrifice shows how much You love us. \u00a0We give our worldly distractions and walk through Your open door<\/span><\/strong>. \u00a0In Jesus’ name, Amen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
