{"id":24511,"date":"2015-02-19T00:15:21","date_gmt":"2015-02-19T05:15:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/?p=24511"},"modified":"2015-02-18T19:50:26","modified_gmt":"2015-02-19T00:50:26","slug":"remember-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/2015\/02\/19\/remember-2\/","title":{"rendered":"(Move Our Hearts To) Remember"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/psalmshymnsspiritualsongskjv.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-16629\" src=\"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/psalmshymnsspiritualsongskjv.jpg\" alt=\"psalmshymnsspiritualsongskjv\" width=\"341\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/psalmshymnsspiritualsongskjv.jpg 341w, https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/psalmshymnsspiritualsongskjv-300x175.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 341px) 100vw, 341px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\">This is the Body that was torn for us<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080;\"> This is the Blood that was spilt<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080;\"> Points to the pain You endured for us<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080;\"> Points to the shame, the blame, the guilt<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><em>Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, come\u2026<br \/>\n<strong>move our hearts to remember<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\">This is the Lamb who was slain for us<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080;\"> So we, the Church, may enter in<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080;\"> So bittersweet when we think of You<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080;\"> The One who bore our curse, our sin<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><em>Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, come\u2026<br \/>\n<strong>move our hearts to remember<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/IlDVeD2nMew?rel=0\" width=\"420\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/center><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Singer \/ Songwriter: Laura Story<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\">\u00a0<strong>\u00a0 * \u00a0~<\/strong>\u00a0 \u00a0\u2665 \u00a0~\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">\u00a0\u271e\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0~ \u00a0\u2665\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<strong>~ \u00a0* \u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Sometimes, we forget. \u00a0(And how <strong><em>could<\/em><\/strong> we forget?) \u00a0But we do. \u00a0(I don\u2019t know how\u2026but we do.) \u00a0We forget our Suffering Savior. \u00a0We forget His hurt and tortured and bruised Body. \u00a0We forget His spilled Blood. \u00a0And I think that our Lord knew we would forget; remember what He said to His beloved apostles as He shared His final meal with them?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Then He took a loaf [of bread], and when He had given thanks,<br \/>\nHe broke [it] and gave it to them saying,<br \/>\nThis is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.<br \/>\nLuke 22:19<\/p>\n<p>Undoubtedly, those twelve men had no idea what Jesus was communicating to them. \u00a0But within a few days, they knew. \u00a0Perhaps, they also asked God to <em><span style=\"color: #800080;\">move their hearts to remember<\/span><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Paul also caused the believers in Corinth to remember:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you,<br \/>\nthat the Lord Jesus in the night in which He was betrayed took bread; and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said,<br \/>\n\u201cThis is My body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of Me.\u201d<br \/>\nIn the same way He took the cup also after supper, saying,<br \/>\n\u201cThis cup is the new covenant in My blood;<br \/>\ndo this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.\u201d<br \/>\nFor as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup,<br \/>\nyou proclaim the Lord\u2019s death until He comes.<br \/>\n1 Corinthians 11:24-26<\/p>\n<p>There are many, <em>oh-so-very-many<\/em>, reasons for us to <em><span style=\"color: #800080;\">remember<\/span><\/em> what Jesus accomplished through His sacrificial death on the Cross. Here are just a few.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u201c<span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong><em>Lord,\u2026move our hearts to remember!<\/em><\/strong><\/span>\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">He himself bore our sins in His body on the Cross,<br \/>\nthat we might die to sin and live to righteousness<br \/>\n1 Peter 2:24<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh,<br \/>\nGod made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins,<br \/>\nhaving canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness,<br \/>\nwhich stood against us and condemned us;<br \/>\nHe has taken it away, nailing it to the Cross.<br \/>\nAnd having disarmed the powers and authorities,<br \/>\nHe made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the Cross.<br \/>\nColossians 2:13-15<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law by becoming a curse for us\u2014 for it is written, \u201cCursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree\u201d<br \/>\nGalatians 3:13<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">For if while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God<br \/>\nthrough the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled,<br \/>\nshall we be saved by His life.<br \/>\nRomans 5:10-11<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u2026Knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold<br \/>\nfrom your futile way of life inherited from your fathers,<br \/>\nbut with precious Blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the Blood of Christ.<br \/>\n1 Peter 1:18-19<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u2026Having forgiven us all our trespasses, by canceling the record of debt<br \/>\nthat stood against us with its legal demands. This He set aside, nailing it to the Cross.<br \/>\nColossians 2:13-14<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us,<br \/>\nso that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.<br \/>\n2 Corinthians 5:21<\/p>\n<p>And we must <strong>intentionally<\/strong> <em><span style=\"color: #800080;\">remember<\/span> <\/em>because,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u201c\u2026the message of the Cross is sheer absurdity and folly<br \/>\nto those who are perishing and on their way to perdition,<br \/>\nbut to us who are being saved it is the manifestation of the power of God.\u201d<br \/>\n1 Corinthians 1:18 AMP<\/p>\n<p>These next few weeks (called Lent, in some churches) are an excellent time to determine to focus on Jesus\u2019 sacrifice, and all that He went through (His betrayal, His trial, His torture, His crucifixion) leading up to His death and (oh! joy!) His Resurrection! \u00a0There are many things one can do to purposefully <em><span style=\"color: #800080;\">remember<\/span><\/em>\u00a0Jesus\u2019 accomplishments, such as\u2026<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Read through Matthew chapters 26 and 27; Mark chapters 14 and 15; Luke chapters 22 and 23; John chapters 17 through 19<\/li>\n<li>Download an app of a daily devotional focusing on Jesus\u2019 last days. One suggestion would be the YouVersion of the Bible.<\/li>\n<li>Listen to hymns and other Christian songs which help you to recognize and <em><span style=\"color: #800080;\">remember<\/span><\/em> what Jesus went through. And sing your praise!
