\u00a0Have you asked yourself this question, too?<\/p>\n<p>This week, our devotional writers&#8230;Ahmee, Ann, Cynda, Laura, and Tina have shared some insightful points regarding what {Biblical} love is. \u00a0There messages have helped me and encouraged me to hold to the Truth regarding what love is. \u00a0Here are a few things they have had to say&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>In <strong><em>Forgiveness is Love<\/em>, <span style=\"color: #008080;\">Tina <\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #008080;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">reminded us of the importance of forgiveness being a part of how we love.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;When we forgive, a weight is lifted from our hearts. \u00a0We will feel light, we will feel as if the world is at our fingertips, as when we first believed in Jesus Christ. \u00a0We can have that now. \u00a0Unforgiveness weighs a ton and sometimes we don\u2019t realize it is piling up.<\/p>\n<p>We need to release those who have wronged us and forgive ourselves. \u00a0We need to let God take away everything that holds us from reaching our dreams. \u00a0Stop believing the lies Satan has told us. \u00a0God wants us to <em><span style=\"color: #008080;\"><strong>love<\/strong> always<\/span><\/em>, and not hold on to the wrongs in this world.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #008080;\">\u2766<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008080;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In <strong><em>Jesus&#8217; Love IS<\/em>, <span style=\"color: #008080;\">Laura<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0shared some examples from her own life and pointed us to our Lord&#8217;s love.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&#8221; <span style=\"color: #008080;\"><em>Jesus\u2019 <strong>love<\/strong> is<\/em><\/span> the same way. \u00a0It is patient and kind. <span style=\"color: #008080;\"><em>\u00a0Jesus\u2019 <strong>love<\/strong> is<\/em><\/span> slow to anger, and it keeps no record of our wrongdoings because we are forgiven by that love. \u00a0We are saved by that love. \u00a0It protects us from evil, and it always perseveres. \u00a0This is why Jesus\u2019s love will win in the end. &#8221;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #008080;\">\u2766<\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u00a0In <strong><em>Imperfect Love,<\/em> <span style=\"color: #008080;\">Ahmee<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong>reminded us, though we are imperfect, we can strive to love perfectly by being examples of our Lord&#8217;s love.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">&#8220;<strong><em>Love<\/em> is meant to be <em>unconditional<\/em>.<\/strong>\u00a0 But, like many other things the human race has gotten it\u2019s hands on, it can be tainted. \u00a0And we need to remember this. \u00a0We aren\u2019t going to love perfectly. \u00a0In a perfect world we would, but we don\u2019t live in a perfect world. \u00a0I\u2019m not saying we need to excuse or ignore the fact that we don\u2019t love perfectly, but we need to be kinder to one another. \u00a0Some of us have had poor examples of what love actually looks like. \u00a0What we know in our minds sometimes does not translate in the real world, because we just don\u2019t know what it\u2019s supposed to be like.<\/p>\n<p>We are imperfect. \u00a0Our love will be imperfect. \u00a0Together, we can strive for Godly love. \u00a0Together we can show one another (and unbelievers) what love truly looks like. We can be examples of the Lord\u2019s love\u2014He loves us, so we can love others. Together, we can get it right.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #008080;\">\u2766<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>In<strong><em> Selfless Love<\/em>, <span style=\"color: #008080;\">Ann <\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">gave us some great examples of 1st Corinthians-love lived out by men \u00a0(Paul, Moses, Joseph&#8230;and Jesus) throughout the Bible. \u00a0And she wrote&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As believers let us encourage one another to have <span style=\"color: #008080;\"><strong>selfless <\/strong>love<\/span> and do as the Word says in the passage (1 Corinthians 13:4-8) we are focusing on this week. \u00a0We were made in His own likeness and so we have to show the likeliness of God. \u00a0In whatever we do, how we speak, the way we carry ourselves\u2026let those who see us thank God and turn to God. We should not grieve the Spirit with our deeds and cause the name of the Lord to not be worshipped. &#8221;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #008080;\">\u2766<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>And in<strong><em> Utterly Unselfish,<\/em> <span style=\"color: #008080;\">Cynda<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #008080;\">\u00a0<span style=\"color: #000000;\">gave us a little exercise so that we had some perspective about living out 1 Corinthians 13. \u00a0And she also shared,<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8220;<em><span style=\"color: #008080;\">Utterly unselfish love,<\/span><\/em> possible only with God\u2019s help<\/p>\n<p>Whew!!! \u00a0That\u2019s a tall order. \u00a0Try reading that passage with<strong> your name<\/strong> in place of {Love}. \u00a0(Did anyone besides me just say OUCH?!?) I am not all those things yet\u2026but I can continue to work towards them. What I need to remember is that is not important how many times I fail, but how many times I get back up. <em><strong>Perseverance is key.<\/strong> <\/em>Hebrews 12:1b (NIV) encourages us to \u201crun with perseverance the race marked out for us\u2026.\u201d James 1:4 tells us we must \u201cLet perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.\u201d God will always be there to help if I am willing to persevere and ask Him for help. The neat thing\u2014God has already provided us with everything we need.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #008080;\">\u2766<\/span><\/h2>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Love is patient, love is kind.
