{"id":24237,"date":"2015-02-04T00:15:01","date_gmt":"2015-02-04T05:15:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/?p=24237"},"modified":"2015-02-03T22:46:40","modified_gmt":"2015-02-04T03:46:40","slug":"god-alone","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/2015\/02\/04\/god-alone\/","title":{"rendered":"You Are God Alone"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/psalmshymnsspiritualsongskjv.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-16629\" src=\"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/psalmshymnsspiritualsongskjv-300x175.jpg\" alt=\"psalmshymnsspiritualsongskjv\" width=\"300\" height=\"175\" srcset=\"https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/psalmshymnsspiritualsongskjv-300x175.jpg 300w, https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/psalmshymnsspiritualsongskjv.jpg 341w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\">You are not a god created by human hands<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080;\"> You are not a god dependent on immortal man<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080;\"> You are not a god in need of anything we can give<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080;\"> By Your plan, that&#8217;s just the way it is<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\"><em><span style=\"color: #800080;\">You are God alone<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span style=\"color: #800080;\"> From before time began<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span style=\"color: #800080;\"> You were on Your throne<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span style=\"color: #800080;\"> You are God alone<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span style=\"color: #800080;\"> And right now in the good times and bad<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span style=\"color: #800080;\"> You are on Your throne<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span style=\"color: #800080;\"> You are God alone<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span style=\"color: #800080;\"> You are God alone<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\">You&#8217;re unchangable<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080;\"> You&#8217;re unshakeable<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080;\"> You&#8217;re unstoppable<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080;\"> That&#8217;s what You are<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\">You&#8217;re the only God whose power none can contend<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080;\"> You&#8217;re the only God whose name and praise will never end<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080;\"> You&#8217;re the only God who is worthy of everything we can give<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080;\"> You are God and that&#8217;s just the way it is<\/span><\/p>\n<p><center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/YkeF9nqwA-4?rel=0\" width=\"420\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/center><center><\/center><center>Billy and Cindy Foote<\/center><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"> * \u00a0~ \u00a0\u2665 \u00a0~ \u00a0\u271e \u00a0~ \u00a0\u2665 \u00a0~ \u00a0*<\/span><\/p>\n<p>I am reading along through a devotional study of the Book of Esther over at <a href=\"http:\/\/shereadstruth.com\/category\/plans\/esther\/\" target=\"_blank\">She Reads Truth<\/a>. \u00a0(I know some of you are, too&#8230;it&#8217;s been great, yes?) \u00a0And I am reminded again&#8230;truly, I am humbled again&#8230;to recognize God\u2019s providential hand of blessing that is so evident throughout the Book of Esther. \u00a0There is not even one single word throughout all ten chapters of the Book of Esther which is attributed to God, or His dealings with Esther, the King, or Uncle Mordecai. \u00a0No directive, no command, no blessing&#8230;no actual interaction with the Almighty God that is recorded. \u00a0However, we clearly can see His hand of blessing, His hand of direction, His guidance and His provision\u2014His <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><em>providence<\/em><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #800080;\">PROVIDENCE<\/span> <\/strong>is defined by Webster&#8217;s Dictionary as \u201cforesight; timely care; particularly, active foresight, or foresight accompanied with the procurement of what is necessary for future use, or with suitable preparation. In theology, the care and superintendence which God exercises over His creatures.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Bible Dictionary says this about <em><span style=\"color: #800080;\">providence<\/span><\/em>,<br \/>\n\u201cWhen applied to God the idea takes on a vastly larger dimension because God not only looks ahead and attempts to make provision for His goals, but infallibly accomplishes what He sets out to do. \u00a0And because it is God&#8217;s governance that is in view, it encompasses everything in the universe, from the creation of the world to its consummation, inclusive of every aspect of human existence and destiny. \u00a0This divine, sovereign, and benevolent control of all things by God is the underlying premise of everything that is taught in the Scriptures.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And the Scriptures contain oh-so-very-many examples of His divine <em><span style=\"color: #800080;\">providence<\/span><\/em>&#8230;here are a few.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Baby Moses, being hidden in a basket in the river; found by Pharoah\u2019s daughter and adopted into Pharoah\u2019s family.<\/li>\n<li>Daniel a Jewish slave in Babylon becoming Nebuchadnezzar\u2019s advisor.<\/li>\n<li>Joseph, envied by his brothers, sold by them into slavery in Egypt and becoming second in power after Pharoah.<\/li>\n<li>Jonah\u2019s refusal to obey, his consequences and, through them, the Ninevites choosing to repent.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Throughout the Scriptures, we are reminded of God\u2019s desire to have His people (us!) recognize His perfect care for and love for us as evidenced by His providence.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Earnestly remember the former things, which I did of old;<br \/>\nfor I am God, and there is no one else;<br \/>\nI am God, and there is none like Me,<br \/>\nDeclaring the end and the result from the beginning,<br \/>\nand from ancient times the things that are not yet done,\u00a0saying,<br \/>\nMy counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure and purpose&#8230;<br \/>\nIsaiah 46:9 and 10<\/p>\n<p>The world calls this <em>coincidence&#8230;happenstance&#8230;serendipity&#8230;fate<\/em>. \u00a0We call it the <em><span style=\"color: #800080;\">providence<\/span> <\/em>of God\u2014His AWEsome watching over, His perfect care, His provision (both immediate and in the future).<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">When I applied my mind to know wisdom and to see the business activity and the painful effort that take place upon the earth\u2014how neither day nor night some men\u2019s eyes sleep\u2014<br \/>\nThen I saw all the work of God, that man cannot find out the work that is done under the sun\u2014because however much a man may toil in seeking, yet he will not find it out; yes, more than that, though a wise man thinks and claims he knows, yet will he not be able to find it out.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Ecclesiastes 8:16 and 17<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Your eyes saw my unformed substance;<br \/>\nin Your book were written, every one of them,<br \/>\nthe days that were formed for me,<br \/>\nwhen as yet there was none of them.<br \/>\nHow precious to me are Your thoughts, O God!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Psalms 139:16 and 17<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Ultimately, our great God has all of eternity in mind and planned for us. \u00a0His sovereign plan (which includes all the faithful who have come before us) will come to pass for one reason alone\u2014He is God, and <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><em>that\u2019s just the way it is!<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">And all of these, though they won divine approval<br \/>\nby [means of] their faith,<br \/>\ndid not receive the fulfillment of what was promised,<br \/>\nBecause God had us in mind<br \/>\nand had something better and greater in view for us,<br \/>\nso that they [these heroes and heroines of faith]<br \/>\nshould not come to perfection<br \/>\napart from us [before we could join them].<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Hebrews 11:39 and 40<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8230;making known to us the mystery of His will, according to His purpose, which He set forth in Christ as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in Him, things in heaven and things on earth. In Him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will, so that we who were the first to hope in Christ might be to the praise of His glory.
