{"id":24114,"date":"2015-01-28T00:20:04","date_gmt":"2015-01-28T05:20:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/?p=24114"},"modified":"2015-01-27T19:32:56","modified_gmt":"2015-01-28T00:32:56","slug":"not-worrying-doesnt-mean-dont-plan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/2015\/01\/28\/not-worrying-doesnt-mean-dont-plan\/","title":{"rendered":"Not Worrying Doesn&#8217;t Mean Don&#8217;t Plan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/SeekingHimLogo.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-13840\" src=\"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/SeekingHimLogo.jpg\" alt=\"SeekingHimLogo\" width=\"560\" height=\"280\" srcset=\"https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/SeekingHimLogo.jpg 560w, https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/SeekingHimLogo-300x150.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 560px) 100vw, 560px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #008080;\">So don&#8217;t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #008080;\">Today&#8217;s trouble is enough for today. <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #008080;\">Matthew 6:34<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Worrying refers to negative thoughts about something that has not yet happened. \u00a0We often use our imaginations to sift through<em><strong> all<\/strong> the possible<\/em> outcomes. \u00a0And we usually attempt to come up with solutions to things that have <strong>yet<\/strong> to happen\u2014and may <strong>never<\/strong> happen.<\/p>\n<p>I feel to some extent worry can be healthy. \u00a0Worry can draw attention to areas in our lives that may need some attention. \u00a0For example, if you constantly worry about money, then you should take a look at your finances: \u00a0Are you handling your finances in a godly way? \u00a0Are you worried about your future? \u00a0Have you stopped to consider and talk with God about what He would have you do?<\/p>\n<p>Worrying often comes from us depending on ourselves instead of the Lord. If we are depending on the Lord in every area of our life, then there is no need for us to worry! \u00a0<strong><em><span style=\"color: #008080;\">Planning<\/span><\/em><\/strong>, on the other hand IS something we can do. \u00a0Here&#8217;s an example: \u00a0if you know that you make &#8220;X&#8221; amount of money each week and you have &#8220;X&#8221; amount of bills to pay each week, then making a budget for the upcoming weeks is not worrying; <em>it&#8217;s called <span style=\"color: #008080;\">planning<\/span><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Planning is essential to our well-being. \u00a0God said in Jeremiah 29:11, &#8220;For I know the <span style=\"color: #008080;\"><em><strong>plans<\/strong> <\/em><\/span>I have for you&#8230;&#8221; \u00a0God thought it was a good idea to have a plan for us; so we, too, should have plans <em><span style=\"color: #008080;\">in<\/span><\/em> our lives.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Notice I didn&#8217;t say &#8220;<span style=\"color: #008080;\"><strong>plan<\/strong> <\/span>our lives&#8221;&#8230;I said, &#8220;<strong><span style=\"color: #008080;\">plans IN<\/span><\/strong> our lives.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #008080; text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Only God can plan our lives<\/em><\/span><\/span>. The Bible says, &#8220;Many are the plans in a person&#8217;s heart, but it is the Lord&#8217;s purpose that prevails&#8221; (Proverbs 19:21).<\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #008080;\">Planning<\/span> <\/em>IN our lives can be as simple as setting an alarm to go off in the morning. \u00a0Setting time aside to read your Bible or do the dishes. \u00a0Planning is opening a savings account (and using it). \u00a0In the past week, the weather has been rather cold. \u00a0I know my car does not like the cold. \u00a0My dad has told me time and time again to make sure that I start my car everyday when it is really cold outside. \u00a0<em>This isn&#8217;t worrying&#8230;it is <span style=\"color: #008080;\">planning<\/span><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>You might even say that planning goes hand-in-hand with common sense. Something else I have noticed is that <em><strong>worrying<\/strong> can be a result of LACK of <span style=\"color: #008080;\">planning<\/span><\/em>. \u00a0Oh, you know&#8230;you start to worry if you will finish your 9 page paper on time because you waited until the night before to start it. \u00a0With a little planning, the worry could have been avoided. \u00a0Procrastination is worry&#8217;s best friend. (And I know this from experience.) \u00a0<em>Don&#8217;t be afraid to make <span style=\"color: #008080;\">plans<\/span>.<\/em>\u00a0\u00a0Ask the Lord where He would lead you. \u00a0Just&#8230;<em>don&#8217;t worry<\/em>!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #008080;\"> * \u00a0~ \u00a0\u2665 \u00a0~ \u00a0\u271e \u00a0~ \u00a0\u2665 \u00a0~ \u00a0* <\/span><\/p>\n<p>Lord, help us to plan in our lives for the days to come and to be able to balance this planning so that it does not turn into worrying. \u00a0Let us hold our lives loosely knowing that even the best of plans are subject to change when You grab hold of them. \u00a0Let us not be so stubborn as to refuse to waver from the plans we have and to willingly follow where You would lead us.
