One of my favorite quotes is…
\n\u201cWorry is like a rocking chair. It gives you something to do, <\/em>
\nbut it doesn\u2019t get you anywhere<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

We look at the past and worry<\/em> about what has happened. \u00a0We look to the future and borrow trouble worrying<\/em> about what will happen. \u00a0Neither is helpful…and neither gets us anywhere.<\/p>\n

How many times have you heard the phrase \u201cOne day at a time…\u201d? Hundreds, maybe even thousands? \u00a0It sounds trite but it is exactly what we need to do—take one day at a time. \u00a0But HOW do we do that? \u00a0By staying in His Presence<\/strong>.<\/span> <\/em>Philippians 4:6 gives us the best advice and provides step-by-step instructions for staying in His Presence<\/span><\/em>.<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t worry about anything; instead, pray <\/span>about everything.
\nTell <\/span>God what you need, and thank <\/span>Him for all He has done.<\/p>\n

When we quit worrying\u2014and instead\u2014tell <\/span>God everything, we shift our burdens to Him. \u00a0Psalm 55:22 (NLT) reminds us to \u201cGive your burdens to the Lord, and He will take care of you.\u201d \u00a0He will take care<\/em> of us. \u00a0He is in control. \u00a0All we need to do is ask. \u00a0That is where telling <\/span>Him what we need comes in. \u00a0John 11:22 (AMP) says \u201cAnd even now I know that whatever You ask from God, He will grant it to You.\u201d (BTW – God already knows<\/em> what we need, but He likes to hear us ask. \u00a0It opens a conversation with Him.)<\/p>\n

As we begin to thank <\/span>God for all He has done, it causes us to reflect back on our life. \u00a0Psalm 77:11 (NLT) encourages us to recall what He has done and remember the miracles He has performed in our lives.<\/p>\n

But then I recall all You have done, O Lord;
\nI remember Your wonderful deeds of long ago.<\/p>\n

In reflection, we can see all the times God has been there for us…we see His mighty hand at work…we recall His great grace, His faithfulness, and His unending love. \u00a0Then we know with assurance Who holds our future.<\/p>\n

Psalm 85:9a (AMP) states \u201cSurely His salvation is near to those who reverently and worshipfully fear Him….\u201d \u00a0When we remain in His Presence<\/span><\/em>, we have no need to worry. \u00a0He knows the plans He has for us…plans that give us hope (Jeremiah 29:11<\/a>). \u00a0So let\u2019s stop the worry and enjoy this day in His Presence.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
