Then He got into the boat and His disciples followed Him. <\/span>
\nSuddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. <\/span>
\nBut Jesus was sleeping. <\/span>
\nThe disciples went and woke Him, saying, \u201cLord, save us! We\u2019re going to drown!\u201d<\/span>
\nHe replied, \u201cYou of little faith, why are you so afraid?\u201d <\/span>
\nThen He got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.<\/span>
\nThe men were amazed and asked, \u201cWhat kind of man is this? <\/span>
\nEven the winds and the waves obey Him!\u201d<\/span>
\nMatthew 8:23-27<\/span><\/p>\n

This past weekend Dish Network gave their subscribers a free weekend of HBO and Showtime. \u00a0I woke up early and watched half a documentary. \u00a0I was able to watch the whole film later that night. \u00a0The film was \u201cTerror at the Mall<\/em>\u201d\u2014a documentary about the terrorist attack that occurred in 2013 at an upscale mall in Nairobi, Kenya.<\/p>\n

After the attack, 60 people lay dead, including 12 children. \u00a0The Muslim attackers were targeting Kenyans and Christians. \u00a0They basically killed anything that moved. People hid in fear, and many prayed to make it out alive. \u00a0The last civilian killed, a thirty-something aged woman, answered her captors that she was a Christian when asked. \u00a0They killed her immediately.<\/p>\n

I have fought a good fight, I have finished [my] course, I have kept the faith:
\n2 Timothy 4:7<\/p>\n

The woman kept her faith even though she probably knew she was fixing to die. \u00a0She was not afraid to tell the gunmen that she was a Christian and followed Christ. \u00a0She had great faith\u2014a faith that carried her home as she admitted she followed Christ. \u00a0She was probably afraid, but she had faith. \u00a0She obeyed her Lord and did not deny Him. \u00a0Amid great turmoil she still put her faith in Him.<\/p>\n

Many people today are losing their faith and turning from God. \u00a0They are giving into the world\u2019s demands and losing their way. \u00a0But for those who do not lose their faith, there is a great reward. \u00a0They will one day be living eternally with Christ and not suffering or living in terror anymore.<\/p>\n

Dear Heavenly Father: Our world is crumbling, and many of our brothers and sisters are losing their faith. \u00a0Please help us show them the way back. \u00a0Strengthen our faith and give us hope of Jesus\u2019s return. \u00a0We are the light, and we burn brighter because of Your faith in us and the strength You give. \u00a0In Jesus\u2019 name, Amen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
