Oh, I have so enjoyed reading the devotionals this week here on the Seeking Him<\/span><\/em><\/strong> blog! \u00a0Our theme verse is such a glorious one. \u00a0And Ahmee, Ann, Cynda, and Laura have shed light on it (no pun intended!) in ways that really encouraged me; how about you?<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s my thoughts:<\/p>\n

– we simply have<\/span><\/strong> to \u2018let\u2019 our light shine (it has already been given to us)
\n– as our light shines it will help others to \u2018see\u2019 our good works
\n– and (best of all!) they will then give glory to the One Who deserves it<\/p>\n

Now listen to a few thoughts that our sisters have shared….<\/p>\n

In Being The Light<\/strong><\/em>, Laura<\/span><\/strong> gave the analogy of a flashlight. \u00a0She wrote: \u201cWe need to be a flashlight now more than ever. \u00a0By accepting Christ, we can bring light to an ever-darkening world. \u00a0There are many ways that we can bring light to the world. \u00a0We can serve in local and foreign ministries. \u00a0We can serve our church by volunteering our time. \u00a0We can help our neighbors when they need it. \u00a0We can watch out for one another. \u00a0By being a light for God, we can show others that God loves them too.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2764 <\/span><\/p>\n

Cynda<\/strong><\/span> asked us two questions about light in Let Your Light Shine<\/strong><\/em>\u2014<\/p>\n

1) What is the Source<\/span>? … and … 2) What does it DO<\/span>?<\/p>\n

\u201cJesus told us He is<\/strong> the Source<\/span> <\/strong>of our light:<\/p>\n

Then Jesus spoke to them again: \u2018I am the light of the world.
\nAnyone who follows Me will never walk in the darkness but will have the light of life.\u2019
\nJohn 8:12(HCSB)<\/p>\n

While I am in the world, I am the Light of the world.
\nJohn 9:5 (NASB)<\/p>\n

Jesus is the only Source<\/span> of our light.<\/p>\n

So what does light do<\/strong><\/span>? \u00a0It expels the darkness. \u00a0It illuminates\u2026and that\u2019s what we are called to do. \u00a0Others must see the Light of Christ in us before we can share His Light with them.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2764<\/span><\/p>\n

In Good Works<\/strong><\/em>, Ann<\/span><\/strong> focused on the benefit of light shining so that others can see<\/em> our good works and then praise God<\/em><\/span>. \u00a0She also had a question for us…and gave some great answers.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis shows us that we are required to always do good as Christians. As we are doing that then we are doing the work of God of which we are called to do. How do we do good works which praise the Lord?<\/p>\n
