{"id":23785,"date":"2015-01-05T00:20:34","date_gmt":"2015-01-05T05:20:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/?p=23785"},"modified":"2015-01-05T00:26:08","modified_gmt":"2015-01-05T05:26:08","slug":"good-works","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/2015\/01\/05\/good-works\/","title":{"rendered":"Good Works"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/SeekingHimLogo.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-13840\" src=\"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/SeekingHimLogo.jpg\" alt=\"SeekingHimLogo\" width=\"560\" height=\"280\" srcset=\"https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/SeekingHimLogo.jpg 560w, https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/SeekingHimLogo-300x150.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 560px) 100vw, 560px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">In the same way, let your light shine before men,<br \/>\nthat they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.<br \/>\nMatthew 5:16<\/p>\n<p>This portion of Scripture has also reminded me of Colossians 1:10 \u201cAnd we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way, bearing fruit in every good work growing in the knowledge of God\u201d and also 1 Timothy 6:18 \u201cCommand them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, to be generous and willing to share.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This shows us that we are required to always <em><span style=\"color: #008080;\">do good<\/span><\/em> as Christians. \u00a0As we are doing that then we are doing the work of God of which we are called to do.<\/p>\n<p>How do we do good works which praise the Lord?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Speech<\/li>\n<li>Character<\/li>\n<li>Attitude<\/li>\n<li>Personality<\/li>\n<li>Spiritual life<\/li>\n<li>Giving<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Everything we do should be pleasing unto God. \u00a0And therefore I request each one of us to search ourselves whether we have lived a life that is pleasing unto God in the previous year or not. \u00a0If not, it is not too late to come back to God and confess our sins. \u00a0(I am calling it <em>sin<\/em> since the Bible tells us, \u201cTo him therefore who knows how to do good, and does it not, to him it is sin\u201d James 4:17).<\/p>\n<p>God is faithful and just to forgive us and give us a fresh start. Let the year 2015 be a testimony year to others because of us.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #008080;\"> *\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0~ \u00a0 \u2665 \u00a0 ~\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u271e\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0~ \u00a0\u2665 \u00a0 ~ \u00a0 * <\/span><\/p>\n<p>Dear heavenly Father, I thank You for who You are\u2014You are a great God, awesome is Your Name&#8212;marvelous, immortal, invisible, omnipresent God. \u00a0We honor You for Your good deeds and we pray, Father, that as Your children created in Your own image and likeness, that we will live a life that is pleasing unto You. \u00a0Let people give You glory and honor because of us. \u00a0Whatever we do, Lord, let it be pleasing unto You. We need Your grace, Lord! \u00a0On our own we can\u2019t make it. \u00a0Guide us, dear Lord, always.
