I love the pure joy I see in their faces on the video. \u00a0But I realized as I listened that I wasn&#8217;t sure what &#8220;<span style=\"color: #a81e1e;\"><em>Gloria, in excelsis Deo<\/em><\/span>&#8221; meant. A quick check of Wikipedia provided this answer:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;Gloria in excelsis Deo&#8221; (Latin for &#8220;Glory to God in the highest&#8221;). The hymn begins with the words that the angels sang when the birth of Christ was announced to shepherds in Luke 2:14. Other verses were added very early, forming a doxology.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>A &#8216;doxology&#8217; in the Greek literally translates as &#8211;<span style=\"color: #a81e1e;\"><em><span style=\"color: #000000;\">doxa<\/span><\/em>&#8211; &#8220;glory&#8221; <span style=\"color: #000000;\">and<\/span> <span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8211;<em>logia<\/em>&#8211;<\/span> &#8220;saying&#8221;<\/span>&#8230; I like that\u2014 &#8220;<em><strong><span style=\"color: #a81e1e;\">glory<\/span> saying<\/strong><\/em>.&#8221; \u00a0 The angels were giving <span style=\"color: #a81e1e;\">glory<\/span> to God for the birth of this child, shouting:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8220;Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord;<br \/>\nPeace in heaven and <span style=\"color: #a81e1e;\">glory<\/span> in the highest!\u201d<br \/>\nLuke 19:38 NASB<\/p>\n<p>The fullness of Heaven is found in the humility of a manger. \u00a0The <span style=\"color: #a81e1e;\">glory<\/span> of angels compared to the humility of a stable. \u00a0Such a contrast!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8220;God loves to put His <strong><span style=\"color: #a81e1e;\">glory<\/span> <\/strong>in unlikely packages so His glory is more clearly displayed.&#8221;<br \/>\n&#8211; David Guzik<\/p>\n<p>It should be no surprise then that the first to hear the good news of this miraculous birth would be lowly shepherds abiding in the field at night. \u00a0They may have been the only ones awake but God planned it that way. \u00a0Christ came for all people, regardless of social status or position.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>And He died for all &#8211; 2 Corinthians 5:15a AMP<\/li>\n<li>Who gave Himself as a ransom for all &#8211; 1 Timothy 2:6a AMP<\/li>\n<li>But we do see Jesus\u2014made lower than the angels for a short time so that by God\u2019s grace He might taste death for everyone &#8211; Hebrews 2:9a HCSB<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>That&#8217;s probably the best reason for &#8220;<em><strong><span style=\"color: #a81e1e;\">glory<\/span> saying<\/strong><\/em>&#8221; that I can think of! \u00a0 Psalm 66:2 (HCSB) says we are to &#8220;Sing about the <span style=\"color: #a81e1e;\">glory<\/span> of His name; make His praise <span style=\"color: #a81e1e;\">glorious<\/span>.&#8221; And Romans 15:6 (NLT) urges &#8220;all of you&#8230;join together with one voice, giving praise and <span style=\"color: #a81e1e;\">glory<\/span> to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s what I want my Christmas to be filled with this year &#8211; &#8220;<em><strong><span style=\"color: #a81e1e;\">glory<\/span> saying<\/strong><\/em>.&#8221; How about you?<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #a81e1e;\">* \u00a0\u00a0\u2665 \u00a0~ \u00a0\u271d \u00a0~ \u00a0\u2605\u00a0 \u00a0 *<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>Dear Lord,<br \/>\nPlease let my mouth be full of praise and honor to You all day long so that I praise You with all my heart, and honor Your name forever, giving all <span style=\"color: #a81e1e;\">glory<\/span> to God in the highest.
