or favorites that are traditional for your own family&#8230;there are just some dishes we expect to prepare and share. \u00a0One of these is Pumpkin Pie!<\/p>\n<p>Ok, asking for a show of hands, please&#8230;how many of you are baking pumpkin pie(s) to serve to your loved ones at your Thanksgiving dinner? \u00a0Me, too! \u00a0Actually, have already made this one. \u00a0The recipe included below features a <span style=\"color: #c4540a;\">Gluten-Free crust<\/span> (made with almond and hazelnut flours) filled with a very traditional <span style=\"color: #c4540a;\">Pumpkin Custard<\/span> and served with <span style=\"color: #c4540a;\">Spiced Whipped Cream<\/span> to top it all off. \u00a0If you are looking for something traditional <em>but with an updated twist<\/em>, this might just fit the bill!<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a tip (oh, punny!) for decoratively adding the whipped cream topping: \u00a0place a large-sized cake decorating tip (I used a #2D) into a small zip-top disposable bag&#8230;snip off JUST a bit from one corner. \u00a0Push the tip firmly into the snipped corner and add a good amount of the Spiced Whipped Cream into the bag; place in fridge \u2018til ready to use<\/li>\n<li>preheat oven to 350<\/li>\n<li>place ingredients in food processor (in order listed)<\/li>\n<li>immediately pulse ingredients \u2018til they come together into a ball<\/li>\n<li>dump gathered ingredients into a 9&#8243; tart pan<\/li>\n<li>press out from the center evenly spreading across the bottom of pan and up the sides<\/li>\n<li>bake for 15 minutes \u2018til just beginning to lightly brown around the edges\u00a0(don\u2019t be alarmed if center puffs up; just lightly tap pan onto counter&#8230;crust will settle)<\/li>\n<li>allow to cool completely before adding pumpkin custard filling<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #c4540a;\"><strong>Pumpkin Custard<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>ingredients<\/strong><\/span>:<br \/>\n1+3\/4 cups pumpkin puree (15 oz. can)<br \/>\n1\/2 cup almond milk<br \/>\n1\/2 cup half and half<br \/>\n2 large eggs, room temperature<br \/>\n1 teaspoon almond extract<br \/>\n1 teaspoon ground cinnamon<br \/>\n1\/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg (freshly ground if possible)<br \/>\n1\/2 teaspoon ground allspice<br \/>\n1\/4 teaspoon salt<br \/>\n1\/4 teaspoon liquid stevia (I used vanilla stevia)*<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">directions<\/span><\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Increase oven temp to 375<\/li>\n<li>in a large bowl, whisk eggs and salt<\/li>\n<li>add in liquids and pumpkin puree, continuing to whisk<\/li>\n<li>add spices and sweetener whisking \u2018til spices are fully blended in<\/li>\n<li>pour into the cooled nut crust (it will fill the pan)<\/li>\n<li>place filled pan on a baking sheet&#8217;<\/li>\n<li>bake at 350 for 50-60 minutes<\/li>\n<li>custard is done when center is set and slightly puffed<\/li>\n<li>allow to cool before slicing<\/li>\n<li>store any leftovers in the \u2018fridge<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #c4540a;\">Spiced Whipped Cream<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">ingredients<\/span><\/strong>:<br \/>\n1\/2 cup heavy or whipping cream<br \/>\n2 teaspoons 10X powdered sugar<br \/>\n1\/4 teaspoon vanilla extract<br \/>\n1\/8 teaspoon EACH ground cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, ginger<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">directions<\/span><\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>in mixer bowl, at medium-high speed, beat cream \u2018til peaks start to form<\/li>\n<li>add sugar and spices into a fine sieve or sifter and dust over whipped cream<\/li>\n<li>start mixer up again, pour in extract<\/li>\n<li>continue to whip just \u2018til stiff peaks form<\/li>\n<li>(follow directions above if piping using decorative tip) otherwise, serve with Spiced Whipped Cream<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #c4540a;\">\u00a0\u2665 \u00a0 \u2665 \u00a0 \u2665 \u00a0 \u2665 \u00a0 \u2665<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>God loves you<\/strong>!\u00a0\u00a0<span style=\"color: #c4540a;\">\u2665\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0(Don\u2019t\u00a0<strong><em>ever<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>forget that!)<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #c4540a;\">\u2665\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0coleen<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I think that the Thanksgiving meal is one where the most traditional fare is prepared, served, and enjoyed. \u00a0Whether they are the ubiquitous offerings&#8230;turkey (goes with saying, right?), gravy, cranberry sauce;
