\nPsalms 115:9-11<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

lean on…rely on…depend on; believe in…have confidence in; or commit to someone or something.<\/em><\/p>\n

We trust <\/em>in the Lord, Jehovah, because He is our Help and our Shield.<\/p>\n

Have you ever heard the phrase, “God helps them that help themselves”? \u00a0We know this is so NOT true. \u00a0God helps them that <\/strong><\/em>trust<\/strong> in Him<\/strong><\/em> as their Help and their Shield and their Strength. \u00a0God helps those whose hearts rejoice in Him and who wait upon Him for their deliverance.\u00a0\u00a0If a person decides to help themselves and “do it on their own”…they will find themselves truly on their own. Trust<\/em> God and He will be your Help and Shield.<\/p>\n

Our inner selves wait [earnestly] for the Lord; He is our Help and our Shield.
\nFor in Him does our heart rejoice, because we have trusted in His holy name.
\nPsalm 33:20 and 21<\/p>\n

The Lord is my Strength and Shield.
\nI trust him with all my heart.
\nHe helps me, and my heart is filled with joy.
\nI burst out in songs of thanksgiving.
\nPsalm 28:7<\/p>\n

David rejoiced and sang this song proclaiming his trust in God Who protected and helped and shielded him from his enemies and the hand of Saul:<\/p>\n

He said,
\n\u201cThe Lord is my Rock and my Fortress and my Deliverer,
\nmy God, my Rock, in whom I take refuge,
\nmy Shield, and the Horn of my salvation,
\nmy Stronghold and my Refuge,
\nmy Savior; You save me from violence.
\nI call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised,
\nand I am saved from my enemies….\u201d
\n2 Samuel 22:3 and 4<\/p>\n

\u201cAll you who fear the Lord (that\u2019s us!), trust the Lord! He is your Helper and your Shield.\u201d
