I decided to find out what was the story behind the song. This is what I found:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cOne of the things Maher says he loves doing as a songwriter is to look at phrases that have become clich\u00e9s among church folk. &#8216;I think that a lot of Millennials, they would hear a pastor say, <em>And all God\u2019s people said amen<\/em>, and they would just kind of maybe roll their eyes a little bit at that. Well, first of all, that\u2019s Scripture. So, please don\u2019t roll your eyes at Scripture.&#8217; \u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>We tend to do that, don\u2019t we? Maybe not roll our eyes but we tend to brush it off because we have \u2018heard it all before.\u2019 So, I did some research on the word \u201c<em><strong>Amen<\/strong><\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">May Yahweh, the God of Israel, be praised from everlasting to everlasting.\u201d<br \/>\nThen all the people said, \u201cAmen\u201d and \u201cPraise the Lord.\u201d<br \/>\nI Chronicles 16:36 HCSB<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">May Yahweh, the God of Israel, be praised from everlasting to everlasting? Let all the people say, \u201cAmen!\u201d Hallelujah!<br \/>\nPsalm 106:48 HCSB<\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">definitions and usages<\/span><\/em>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Wikipedia \u2013 a declaration of affirmation<\/li>\n<li>Merriam Webster \u2013 used to express agreement or approval<\/li>\n<li>Greek Old Testament \u2013 so be it<\/li>\n<li>Dictionary.com \u2013 it is so<\/li>\n<li>It can also be used in place of \u201ctruly\u201d or \u201cverily\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The one that caught my attention was \u201cit is so,\u201d used as an expression of belief. It reminded me of a verse I had recently seen:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center; \">But having the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, \u201cI believed, therefore I spoke,\u201d we also believe, therefore we also speak,<br \/>\n2 Corinthians 4:13 NASB<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>I believe therefore I speak.<\/strong><\/em> Beth Moore says, \u201cGod\u2019s words are omnipotent. Our words are potent.\u201d When we speak Scripture aloud we are externalizing our internal passion. We are in agreement with God; we are sharing the mind of Christ. When we speak Scripture, we are accepting it, receiving it into our lives.<\/p>\n<p>Now go back to this song&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cWe are all the same in need of mercy to be forgiven and be free.\u00a0It&#8217;s all you got to lean on but thank God it&#8217;s all you need\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cHis love never ends\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cGod knows we stumble and we fall and He so loved the world He sent His son to save us all\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These are all things I agree with\u2014things I believe\u2014therefore I can say \u201cAmen!\u201d<\/p>\n<h4>What are <em>you<\/em> willing to say AMEN\u00a0to?<\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: center; \"><span style=\"color: #800080;\">* ~ \u2665 ~ \u271e ~ \u2665 ~ *<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Father, thank You for a love that never ends. Help me speak what I believe. Remind me why we say \u201camen.\u201d Make me aware of what I am saying \u201camen\u201d to. Thank You for being all I ever need.
