{"id":2116,"date":"2012-10-09T06:00:44","date_gmt":"2012-10-09T11:00:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/?p=2116"},"modified":"2013-01-24T20:04:43","modified_gmt":"2013-01-25T01:04:43","slug":"a-daughters-worth-week-2-day-2-your-father-delights-in-your-existence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/2012\/10\/09\/a-daughters-worth-week-2-day-2-your-father-delights-in-your-existence\/","title":{"rendered":"A Daughter&#8217;s Worth Week 2 \/ Day 2: Your Father Delights in Your Existence"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Zephaniah 3:17<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>The Lord your God is with you; He is mighty to save.\u00a0 <\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>He will take great delight in you; He will quiet you with His love; <\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>He will rejoice over you with singing.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Delight is a word that isn\u2019t used very often.\u00a0 Delight is one of those words with deep meaning.\u00a0 I looked it up so we could know more fully how God feels about us and this is what I found:<\/p>\n<p><strong>DELIGHT<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1) A Feeling of extreme pleasure or satisfaction; JOY<\/p>\n<p>2)\u00a0 To please greatly<\/p>\n<p>3)\u00a0 Something or someone that provides a source of happiness.<\/p>\n<p>Growing up I can\u2019t say that \u2018delight\u2019 was in my vocabulary.\u00a0 Aside from a few pictures, the emotion of \u2018delight\u2019 was foreign to me.\u00a0 So the thought that my Heavenly Father took delight in my existence was a little hard to grasp.\u00a0 I have always been a \u201cthinker\u201d.\u00a0 When I have questions about random, everyday stuff I \u2018google\u2019 it.\u00a0 My head is full of trivial information that I don\u2019t even know where it came from.\u00a0 When I have BIG questions I go to \u201cThe Source\u201d.\u00a0 I ask God, himself, to give me the answers to my hearts questions.\u00a0 As a result, my heart is full of TRUTH and I DO know where I got it; My Father!\u00a0 Check out <strong>Luke 11:9<\/strong>: &#8220;<em><strong>Ask and it will be given to you;\u00a0seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you<\/strong><\/em>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Not only does He want us to ask, He wants us to KEEP asking.\u00a0 Jesus said in Matthew 7:7-8,<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\" data-mce-mark=\"1\"> \u201cKeep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for.\u00a0 Keep on seeking, and you will find<\/span> (what you are looking for).\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\" data-mce-mark=\"1\">Keep on Knocking and the door will be opened to you.\u00a0 For everyone who asks, receives.\u00a0 Everyone who seeks, finds and everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Did you catch that promise directly from your Father?\u00a0 So when we have questions and need answers we are to ask him and He promises to give us whatever we have asked for.\u00a0 So if that is true \u2013 why don\u2019t we know everything and have everything we need?\u00a0 In James 4:2-3, we find the answer to that question (you see how I did that?\u00a0 I took you back to the Source).<\/p>\n<p>James said, \u201c\u2026<strong>You have NOT because you ASKED NOT<\/strong>.\u201d\u00a0 As a mom, there is nothing that gives me more joy, more delight, than to give my daughters something I know they really, really, REALLY want.\u00a0 Most of the time, what my daughters want is not monetary.\u00a0 They desire my time, my touch, my ears to listen to their hearts.\u00a0 Sometimes I can show them I have really listened to them by remembering to do something nice for them.\u00a0 I want to be the one who provides this very basic need for my daughters.\u00a0 If it makes me that happy to please my daughters, how much more happy, joyous, delighted &#8211; must God the Father be to know that He provides for us exactly what we want and need?\u00a0 <strong><em>Because we are God\u2019s daughters, he wants to provide for us.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In Psalms 37:4 it says, \u201cTake delight in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart.\u201d\u00a0 Because God created us, HE KNOWS US.\u00a0 We may go through life feeling unloved, without friends, lonely, and well, UN-known.\u00a0 But our heavenly father knows what we need and gives us a very specific example in the way He acknowledged Jesus on the day he was baptized.<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s look at that day in Jesus\u2019 life.\u00a0 He was about 30 years old, he knew what his purpose was on this earth and he knew it was time to begin the work.\u00a0 I imagine the human side of Jesus was nervous to get started, anxious about what was in his future, and a bit overwhelmed at the sheer size of his job.\u00a0 He had come TO SAVE THE WORLD! Where do you start?\u00a0 Who do you start with?<\/p>\n<p>Jesus started at the beginning.\u00a0 He decided to do the job he came to this earth for.\u00a0 The first public act of his obedience was to be baptized, so he went to see his cousin, John.\u00a0 (You should really go read that story.\u00a0 It\u2019s awesomely cool)<\/p>\n<p>Matthew 3:16-17 takes us to the next part of Jesus\u2019 story.<\/p>\n<p>16)\u00a0 After his baptism, as Jesus came up out of the water, the heavens were opened and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and settling on him. 17) And a voice from heaven said, \u201cThis is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">God gave Jesus the 3 things everyone needs to hear:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0God claimed Jesus as His own son.\u00a0 \u201cThis is my SON.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>2)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 God proclaimed His love for Jesus.\u00a0 \u201cWhom I love.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>3)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 God exclaimed His Joy, Delight, and Extreme Pleasure with his Son.\u00a0 \u201cI am very pleased with him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I imagine that Jesus needed to know who he belonged to; who loved him and who was pleased with him to be able to begin the job God sent him to do.\u00a0 If Jesus needed it, so do we.\u00a0 It\u2019s OK to admit that we need to belong, be loved and be delighted in.<\/p>\n<p><strong>That\u2019s how God made us!!!!!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cRealizing God\u2019s delight in your existence is a wonderful ego booster.\u00a0 Your Creator, the Father of everything, is always happy to hang out with you.\u201d\u00a0 (page 18, A Daughter\u2019s Worth)\u00a0 God delights in our delighting in Him.\u00a0 God values our valuing Him.\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #800080;\">Who can tell me where the verse is in the BIBLE where it says, \u201cWe love him because He first loved us\u201d?<\/span>\u00a0 (Trivia Contest \u2013 Leave the answer in the comment section)\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>God already has claimed us as his daughters.\u00a0 He has already proven he loves us.\u00a0 He gives us the desires of our hearts because it brings Him joy and pleasure.\u00a0 Now it\u2019s up to us \u2026.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Let Us Pray:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Heavenly Father, I thank you for being my dad, my papa, my ABBA.\u00a0 Thank you for loving me, for telling the world that you love me and for providing everything that I need.\u00a0 I am honored to be your daughter.\u00a0 I accept the place you have reserved for me in your family.\u00a0 My earthly family doesn\u2019t always look or feel very loving and secure, but I know your love for me never fails.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Father, continue to change my heart as I draw closer to you.\u00a0 I love you daddy.\u00a0 AMEN<\/p>\n<p>&lt;3 <strong><em>Teresa Bolme<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>VIDEO\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0 <strong><em>Mighty To Save<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0 sung by Laura Story (scripture taken from\u00a0Zephaniah 3:17<\/p>\n<div>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/youtu.be\/pYqogpLpC5Q\">htthttp:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?feature=player_detailpage&amp;v=pYqogpLpC5Qp:\/\/youtu.be\/pYqogpLpC5Q<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>________________________________________________<\/p>\n<p>For the<em> A Daughter&#8217;s Worth<\/em> Bible Study, you will need the book, your Bible, pen or pencil, a highlighter and a quiet place.
