{"id":20929,"date":"2014-07-27T00:20:50","date_gmt":"2014-07-27T04:20:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/?p=20929"},"modified":"2014-07-27T11:05:18","modified_gmt":"2014-07-27T15:05:18","slug":"confidence-lord","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/2014\/07\/27\/confidence-lord\/","title":{"rendered":"Confidence in the Lord"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/SeekingHimLogo.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-13840\" src=\"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/SeekingHimLogo.jpg\" alt=\"SeekingHimLogo\" width=\"560\" height=\"280\" srcset=\"https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/SeekingHimLogo.jpg 560w, https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/SeekingHimLogo-300x150.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 560px) 100vw, 560px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">My heart is confident in you, O God; my heart is confident.<br \/>\nNo wonder I can sing your praises.<br \/>\nPsalm 57:7<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><em><strong>Confidence<\/strong><\/em> means:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>faith or belief that one will act in a right, proper, or effective way;<\/li>\n<li>a feeling or consciousness of one&#8217;s power;<\/li>\n<li>a quality or state of being certain<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>God can place some crazy dreams in our hearts and minds. \u00a0Those subtle desires that we think are impossible and even stop to wonder &#8220;Where did that come from?&#8221; \u00a0God is amazing. \u00a0Therefore, as His followers we really shouldn&#8217;t be surprised when He approaches us with some grand plan and wants to use us to make it come to pass. \u00a0What an honor! \u00a0But how often do we let <em><strong>us<\/strong> <\/em>get in the way of God&#8217;s grand plan? \u00a0He says &#8220;Soar!&#8221; and, yet, we are too afraid to spread our wings. \u00a0God pushes us out of our comfort zone. \u00a0He wants to show us what He can do when we follow His lead.<\/p>\n<p>What does any of this have to do with the word <em>confidence<\/em>? \u00a0Let me tell you. \u00a0The best part of God&#8217;s plan is that <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">we can have full confidence that <em>God will do<\/em> as He says He will<\/span>. \u00a0Philippians 1:6 says,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">And I am certain [confident] that God, Who began the good work within you,<br \/>\nwill continue His work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.<\/p>\n<p>So&#8230;has God called you to do something grand? \u00a0Something that requires your complete confidence in Him and not your own ability? \u00a0Do you have the confidence in Him to do it?<\/p>\n<p><em>Noah did<\/em>. \u00a0In the book of Genesis, we find Noah, the only one who found favor with the Lord during his time.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Noah was a righteous man,<br \/>\nblameless among the people of his time,<br \/>\nand he walked with God.<br \/>\nGenesis 6:9b<\/p>\n<p>Noah walked with God..meaning Noah had a viable relationship with the Lord. Noah knew God and, because Noah spent time with Him and invested in his relationship with the Lord, he was able to have confidence in the Lord. So, when God told Noah to build an ark, Noah was able to build the ark certain that God would do as He said.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">How&#8217;s your <em><strong>confidence<\/strong> in the Lord<\/em>? \u00a0Enough to walk out on water like Peter? Rebuild the Jerusalem walls like Nehemiah? \u00a0Uproot yourself and not know where you&#8217;re going like Abraham? \u00a0To slay a giant with just a sling and stones like David? To give birth to the Savior of the world like Mary? \u00a0To hang on the cross and give your life for all mankind like Jesus?<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #37989e;\">*<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<span style=\"color: #37989e;\">\u00a0~ \u00a0 \u2665 \u00a0 ~\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u271e\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0~ \u00a0\u2665 \u00a0 ~ \u00a0 *<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Lord, I pray that my confidence in You would grow. \u00a0That I would get to know You more intimately, so that when the time comes I won&#8217;t hesitate, or look back, but move forward with You. \u00a0Thank you for showing Yourself to me. \u00a0Amen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My heart is confident in you, O God; my heart is confident.
