\nAs I was reading Psalm 8, I kept going back to verses 5 and 6:<\/p>\n

Yet you made them<\/em> only a little lower than God and crowned them<\/em> with glory and honor.
\nYou gave them<\/em> charge of everything you made, putting all things under their authority. (NLT)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Who does \u201cthem<\/em>\u201d refer to? \u00a0Looking back at verse 4 we see that \u201cthem\u201d is mankind, mere mortals. \u00a0In other words…us. \u00a0Now, read those two verses again, but this time, substitute\u00a0your name<\/em> <\/strong>for the word \u201cthem<\/em>.\u201d \u00a0Did that just give you chills? \u00a0God made us\u2014you and me\u2014only a little lower than Himself.<\/strong>\u00a0 He crowned us with glory and honor. \u00a0God put us in charge of EVERYTHING! \u00a0ALL things are under our authority (\u2018under our feet\u2019 as some versions say). \u00a0There is no limit to \u201call things!\u201d<\/p>\n

Ah, Satan is already whispering doubts to you, isn\u2019t he? \u00a0He would like nothing better than to convince you this authority, this dominion does not apply to you. But it does. Look at the following verses:<\/p>\n

You have crowned him with glory and honor and set him over the works of Your hands,
\nFor You have put everything in subjection under his feet.
\nNow in putting everything in subjection to man, He left nothing outside [of man\u2019s] control.
\nHebrews 2:7b-8a (AMP)<\/p>\n

For the Scriptures say, \u201cGod has put all things under his authority.\u201d
\n1 Corinthians 15:27a (NLT)<\/p>\n

We were created to have dominion over all things. Not some things but ALL things. \u00a0That is why it is such a tragedy when we are held in bondage by things of this world.<\/p>\n

This authority was originally given to Adam and we still have the same authority because of our relationship with Jesus Christ. According to Barnes\u2019 Notes on the Bible:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe language is taken from the act of treading down the enemies in battle\u2026The idea is that of complete and entire subjection.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

That makes us conquerors, right? \u00a0Yes! \u00a0As Romans 8:37 states \u201c…in all these things we are more than conquerors….\u201d \u00a0We have the power to be overwhelmingly victorious! \u00a0Think about that for a minute…God\u2019s love for us is so great that He honors us by giving us dominion over ALL things!<\/p>\n

Sisters, this is a precious gift we have been given. \u00a0One that the enemy does NOT want us to use. \u00a0Satan would like nothing more than to keep us oppressed\u2014doubting that we have such authority. \u00a0The authority is ours, if we choose to receive it. \u00a0When we make that choice to receive that God-given authority, we give the glory and honor back to God.<\/p>\n

Such great power. \u00a0Such great love. \u00a0It makes me ask, as David did, \u201cWhat are mere mortals that you should think about them, human beings that you should care for them?\u201d \u00a0Don\u2019t give your God-given authority to the enemy. \u00a0Take it back. Then glorify the Lord as we sing, \u201cLord, our Lord, how majestic is your Name in all the earth!\u201d<\/p>\n

*<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0~ \u00a0 \u2665 \u00a0 ~\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u271e\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0~ \u00a0\u2665 \u00a0 ~ \u00a0 *<\/span><\/p>\n

Lord, thank You for giving us such great honor and authority. \u00a0Teach us to accept the authority and use it in a manner that glorifies You so that the entire world will recognize just how majestic You truly are. \u00a0In Jesus\u2019 name we pray, Amen \u2013 so be it!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
