I cry aloud to the LORD;
\nI lift up my voice to the LORD for mercy.
\nI pour out before Him my complaint;
\nbefore Him I tell my trouble.
\nWhen my spirit grows faint within me,
\nit is You who watch over my way.
\nIn the path where I walk
\npeople have hidden a snare for me.
\nLook and see, there is no one at my right hand;
\nno one is concerned for me.
\nI have no refuge;
\nno one cares for my life.
\nI cry to You, LORD;
\nI say, \u201cYou are my Refuge,
\nmy Portion in the land of the living.

The beauty of David\u2019s words paints the picture of where he was in that time of his life. \u00a0We see his pain and hear his cry for help. \u00a0I have never been in a cave or running for my life, but I can relate to David\u2019s words…I think we all can to some extent.<\/p>\n

I know that there have been times when I felt alone, unsure of what lies ahead in my next step. \u00a0Similar to David, I have felt tired and worn down by the weight of this world. \u00a0Through all of the struggles and pain of life David remembered one thing:<\/p>\n

When my spirit grows faint within me, it is You who watch over my way. (verse 3)<\/p>\n

When it seems as if there is no one on our side and loneliness is closing in on us, we should remember David\u2019s words\u2014it is God who watches over our way.<\/em><\/p>\n

I cry to you, LORD; I say, \u201cYou are my Refuge, my Portion in the land of the living. (verse 5)<\/p>\n

One of our basic needs in life is the feeling of safety\u2014a place where we can breathe and release our cares. \u00a0God is<\/em><\/strong> that safe place; He is our Refuge. \u00a0After a stressful day at work…when the kids seem to be pushing every button you have, when that impossible situation arises and you don\u2019t know what to do…turn to your Refuge and He will give you peace.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>*<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0~ \u00a0 \u2665 \u00a0 ~\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u271e\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0~ \u00a0\u2665 \u00a0 ~ \u00a0 *<\/span><\/p>\n

Let\u2019s Pray<\/strong><\/span>: \u00a0Dear Heavenly Father, life can lay snares in our path that we don\u2019t see until it is too late. \u00a0But, despite what happens on our journey, we can take relief in knowing that You are here…You are our peace, our joy, our refuge! Thank You for this. \u00a0Thank you for being our safe place. \u00a0In Jesus\u2019 name I pray, Amen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
