I cry to you, Lord; \u00a0I say, \u201cYou are my Refuge,
\nmy Portion in the land of the living.\u201d
\nListen to my cry,\u00a0for I am in desperate need;
\nrescue me from those who pursue me,
\nfor they are too strong for me.
\nSet me free from my prison,
\nthat I may praise Your name.
\nThen the righteous will gather about me
\nbecause of Your goodness to me.

Everyday people are burdened with many troubles. \u00a0I admit that I can claim to belong to this group. \u00a0It may be money troubles…it may be stress… it may a little bit of everything. \u00a0Yet we all have our burdens. \u00a0Sometimes these burdens stretch out for a long period of time, and other times they are very short-lived. \u00a0Either way burdens can leave us stressed out and exhausted. \u00a0They can leave us feeling miserable. \u00a0It can feel like we are trapped in a prison that we can\u2019t escape.<\/p>\n

Cast your burden upon the LORD and He will sustain you;
\nHe will never allow the righteous to be shaken.
\nPsalm 55:22<\/p>\n

As children of God we should never have to worry about our burdens or let them trap us in an emotional prison. \u00a0This just makes us miserable and lets the devil walk all over us. \u00a0It lets the temptation to sin gain traction, and then our walk with God will suffer. \u00a0If we put our faith in God, we should not let our worries and burdens stress us. \u00a0We should be relieved that Jesus is there to take some of the weight off our shoulders. \u00a0God already knows how our situations are going to turn out. \u00a0He is not going to give us more than He thinks we can handle.<\/p>\n

Jesus sets us free from the prison that our burdens make for us when we put our faith in Him. \u00a0He loves us, and He is always there to help us when we need it. \u00a0He is our Comforter and our Strength. \u00a0We should not be afraid to let Him help us handle what is in front of us.<\/p>\n
