Praise the Lord!
\nPraise, O servants of the Lord,
\nPraise the name of the Lord.
\nBlessed be the name of the Lord
\nFrom this time forth and forever.
\nFrom the rising of the sun to its setting
\nThe name of the Lord is to be praised.
\nThe Lord is high above all nations;
\nHis glory is above the heavens.
\nWho is like the Lord our God,
\nWho is enthroned on high,
\nWho humbles Himself to behold
\nThe things that are in heaven and in the earth?
\nHe raises the poor from the dust
\nAnd lifts the needy from the ash heap,
\nTo make them sit with princes,
\nWith the princes of His people.
\nHe makes the barren woman abide in the house
\nAs a joyful mother of children.
\nPraise the Lord!<\/p>\n

Psalm 113<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The whole of Psalm 113 describes three of my favorite things:
\n1. We are called to praise God
\n2. Praise celebrates God because He is beyond compare
\n3. God\u2019s grace<\/p>\n

We are called to praise God. (Read verses 1-3.) Verse one states, \u201cPraise the Lord!\u201d This is an imperative, meaning it is a command we are to obey.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Who offers praise<\/em>? \u00a0God\u2019s servants
\n\u2022 What is to be praised<\/em>? His name. The name of God represents who He is. No matter our circumstance we can always praise God for who He is.
\n\u2022 When is His name to be praised<\/em>? From this time forth\u2026right now!
\n\u2022 How long is He is be praised<\/em>? Forever
\n\u2022 Where are we to praise God<\/em>? From the place where the sun rises all the way to the place where it sets. We are to praise God wherever we are and in all places.<\/p>\n

Can you think of a time or place where it is difficult to praise God? \u00a0Focus on who He is and continue to praise Him! \u00a0\u00a0Two concepts are included in this one illustration about God\u2019s creation praising Him.<\/p>\n

First,<\/span><\/strong> since the sun rises in the east and sets in the west it means that the Lord is to be praised or recognized as God, everywhere.<\/p>\n

Secondly,<\/strong><\/span> since the sun rises in the morning and sets in the evening it means that God is to be praised all day long, at all times. From the bursting forth of each new day to the slow-spreading shadows of the evening each and every new day is a gift from God\u2019s hand to us. Each and every new morning sunrise has within it a promise of fresh new blessings from the same hand that created the sun.<\/p>\n

Through the LORD\u2019S mercies we are not consumed,
\nBecause His compassions fail not.
\nThey are new every morning;
\nGreat is Your faithfulness.
\nLamentations 3:22-23<\/p>\n

God\u2019s mercy ensures us that we will not get what our thoughts and actions deserve. Mercy is not getting what we merit. Sometimes mercy comes in interesting packages that are really God\u2019s grace.<\/p>\n

A doctor who is a believer had seen an unusually large number of unscheduled patients one morning, and was exhausted. As he sat down for lunch at the hospital canteen, he placed his hands over his eyes, closed his eyes, and thought to himself, \u201cI\u2019ll scream if another patient shows up without an appointment\u2026\u201d Opening his eyes, he saw an elderly woman approach. She said, \u201cYou know, I was nervous about coming to this hospital \u2026 but now I know this place is okay, because I see that the doctors pray before eating.\u201d<\/p>\n

Do you think that was a fresh new mercy from God? \u00a0I do!<\/p>\n

Lord, help us realize that praising and worshipping You should be our lifestyle; in Jesus\u2019 name, Amen.<\/p>\n
